Good text editor for Jolla ?

I know we can use nano, but it not so convenient (for me at least)...
May be someone know how to port Simple Text (prefer), Redak or TxPad from meego ?
Thanks

Just order a jphone already and get crackin! You're missing all the fun, fixing bugs and stuff and see Sailfish get better and better by the day.

Yes, TinyEdit is a start, but is missing important features:
  • when quitting, does not warn of unsaved work
  • no copy/paste of text
  • no open recent files
  • no undo

is mc working fine for you? there's black areas for me and refresh/update issues in both Nieldk's version and own ncurses based one

For my self I found a better way to edit text files is via Filetug app -> pull down -> edit as text.

I've been using emacs (emacs-nox-24.1-5.5.1.armv7hl) since I got my Jolla.

Re: Good text editor for Jolla ?

Ok, if we go for hc editors, then ed and vi are included in standard sailfish package, but I prefer nano/joe. Still, mcedit is cool and handy when you do a bit more than just single file manipulation. Did anyone manage to get any other terminal to work on Jolla? MC glitches make it almost unusable (the only workaround I know is flip it sideways and back again, after it refresh suddenly works until you scroll some more). Pretty sure fingerterm is the culprit as through ssh everything works perfectly. Anyone? Pls? (sorry for kinda OT)
