loosing Accounts Password

Hy there,

on my new 64GB N9 is nearly finished to be configurated like the old one but i have one big problem.
All my accounts dont saving the passwords. Nokia account and email accounts always asking for the password after restart. Twitter always like to reregister if i say cancel, my twitter account is deleted.
Someone have an idea whats the problem?
Can it be in relation with the new device-lock deb for N9 Users with ubiboot and sailfish?

Thanks in advance

Re: loosing Accounts Password

Sounds like the standard openmode accounts problem? Try removing /home/user/.accounts, then restarting and recreating the accounts.

Re: loosing Accounts Password

(assuming you're using openmode because you're using Ubiboot, AFAIK this is valid)

Basically, there are some consequences of openmode, one of which being that some accounts directories aren't properly readable and so they have to be removed before saving account settings works. Restarting should cause the phone to recreate the directory, so accounts should then save properly.

Last I saw, the directories which may need removing are:
/home/user/.accounts
/home/user/.aegis
/home/user/.activesync

These are hidden, but they definitely should exist. What were you using to find .accounts?

Re: loosing Accounts Password

Sorry. i was confused. Filecase was in MyDocs.
So i deleted .accounts and .aegis
.activesync doesnt exist.

Ok. is the same. Restarting also asking for email password.

Can it be in relation with the new device-lock.deb?

Re: loosing Accounts Password

no, its openmode fault, because you flashed it wrong.

first you need a full flash
without reboot after full flash
flash open mode kernel
reboot

if you do a reboot after the full flash, the accounts problem occur.
Read the thread I posted for detailed procedure

@nieldk
what you like to telling me? I have flashed my old 16gb a lot of times and didnt have problems and i know very good the flashing guide.

My actual problem is i'am new on Openmode and i didnt find a wiki page or openmode thread.

If you see above, i flashed also Openmode without problems but it seems that openmode have some problems that need manual solved. And for the new users it were good to hava a wiki-page like Sailfish on this you can find special problems and the solution.

Edit: ok see your second answer. So Sailfish-Wiki need an adaption

from the wiki.maemo.org/sailfish

Flash the OpenMode kernel and reboot your phone with:

flasher -a main.bin -k zImage_2.6.32.54-openmode_l2fix --flash-only=kernel -f -R

Re: loosing Accounts Password

@chilango delete folders. delete accounts. reboot. create accounts. passwords will be reminded. no need to flash anything.

@nieldk please suggest easy methods at first :D

Re: loosing Accounts Password

@coderus I hardly ever take the easy way. That way you dont **** up, and you dont learn + its just not as fun ;P

Re: loosing Accounts Password

I dont can learn anything when i dont can read why open mode cause this typ of problem.
For this i was asking for a special open mode site.
Something like
wiki.maemo.org/openmode

Where described the benefits from openmode and problems and solutions, same like in

wiki.maemo.org/sailfish

I had 2 years my simlocked N9 16Gb so i never was interested for Openmode.

Now i'am 2 years late ;)

Re: loosing Accounts Password

Ok. i find finally the thread that i can learn from

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...+View-openmode

Its the ubiboot Thread that explain the special situation form open mode

But than the Sailfish-Wiki have a conflict

[edit] Step 3 - Flash the OpenMode!
(Optional) Remove the modified kernel warning before installing OpenMode.
Boot up Harmattan
Enable developer mode
Open terminal and type
devel-su
rootme # root's password
disclaimer-cal remove View-openmode

When i do this it results my problem. Where can change the Wiki?

Re: loosing Accounts Password

There is no clash at all.
And it is up to the users to create such wikis, instead of claiming give me step-by-step instructions. So go ahead....
BUT maybe better not as it needs also a bit of understanding and at least the ability to read. Quote from above linked thread:
Quote:

The Aegis key generation happens the first time a device boots after a clean flash, before user is presented with the UI of the device. Hence, it is important to make sure that the device boots up in Open Mode the first time after flashing. The way to accomplish this is what I call back-to-back flashing.
and following text.
It is not possible to explain it more detailed than juiceme did already (and also mot possible to be more end-user friendly than juiceme's, e.g. ubiboot release for sailfish).

So please read that post once again. And then come back with specified questions (if there still are).

@chilango: Bug #123, remove
Code:

/Root/home/user/.signon/backup/signonfs
from settings.zip of one of your backups and restore.

Re: loosing Accounts Password

Anyone to explain the problem at :

https://wiki.maemo.org/Harmattan_Tip...#COMMUNICATION

I got it fixed with :

mv ~/.accounts ~/.accounts.bak ; mv ~/.aegis ~/.aegis.bak ; sudo reboot
