[REQUEST] Porting of "Popcorn Time" to Maemo/Meego/Sailfish

What this app do : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popcorn_Time

Application: http://get-popcorn.com/

It's an open-source streaming applications based on torrent. It will be a must have for every N900.

There are 2 different team:

This one: http://get-popcorn.com/
And this: http://time4popcorn.eu/

From the second website we can download the .apk version. It's compatible with apkenv? I can't test it right now, my N900 is broken.

Hmmm no no, it must be more than that. An app for example with the possibility to set or manipulate proxies for example (I use them to bypass torrent limitations for the wifi) :D

Could someone test the .apk version (from here http://www.time4popcorn.eu/popcorntime.apk) with apkenv?

For what it's worth, Popcorn-Time is based around an application called peerflix: https://github.com/mafintosh/peerflix

so maybe it'd be worth building a more native app around this? :D

peerflix is a torrent streaming app. I just tried to install it with Aapo's NodeJS (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=81304), but it looks like the version of NodeJS we have on the n900 is too old.

Perhaps AapoRantalainen could upload a newer version to Extras-Devel...
