Registering Whatsup using WART
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the WART registration code for whatsup via the voice method instead of sms? I do not have sms so I can not get the code at this time. I notice that the previous version of WART gave a choice of sms or voice.

Re: Wart
You can use WART.
Download WART from: https://github.com/shirioko/WART Run it on your PC Enter your phone number and ask for a code. or if you already have a code, you can enter it (no need to enter the "-" (dash) when entering the code) then write down the password that you will get. Then edit the file as normal user: Code:
/home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf it will look like this: Code:
password="9Xy2345RLVByRxg6aeFJ7mvZ3X9=" |
Re: Wart
I tried that. When you enter the phone number and ask for the code it says code sent via sms. I dont have sms so I am not receiving the code. The old version of WART gave you an option to choose either sms or voice to receive the code.

Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
Tried that.
I get "Code request failed. Reason: no cell routes to make call for your operator. Please try other method [sms/voice] You can retry requesting code after 1 hour(s) 0 minute(s)" |
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
Which country are you trying?
What is your country code? |
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
U.S.
Country code is +1 |
Man i live in U.S and I was having trouble registering again, so this is what I did :
1. I went to filebox/filecase and deleted every single folder that had to with whatsup or wazapp. I couldnt use the WART method anymore for some reason. 2. After that I uninstalled whatsup/wazapp, then I downloaded and installed wazapp from openwhatsapp.org. 3. Went to Warehouse and installed wazapp path 4. After this, open wazapp and registered they will send you a sms, but since you dont have sms, hit the call option 5. Write down the code and enter it in wazapp, if registration was successful, install whatsup and import account and enjoy.. hope this help of now.... Eeeee.. I dont know :( good luck with |
Sorry for grammar errors, i still suck at writing with my n9 :(

After that, enter the code in WART and NOT on your PC!! :) Good luck! |
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
It wont work anymore, you should use same identity when requesting code and when registering with received code. it's possible only with wart.

Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
I reinstated my N9 yesterday and got Whatsup working pretty easy by exactly following the procedure that is documented on openrepos.net when you search for whazzappath.
1. Install Wazapp 0.9.22 2. Install wazappath; patches Wazapp for registration problem 3. Open Wazapp and register 4. Quit Wazapp 5. Install Whatsup 6. When open Whatsup, click on button to import from Wazapp. 7. Done No external PC or browser required; all done from the N9. |
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
@ ELProfeMcK I just tried it your way about 5 times and I keep getting the same old wazapp back. I deleted everything I could find that said wazapp or whatsup. But wazapp says connected when I open
it after re-installing both wazapp and wazapppath and then doesn't load my contacts. ??? |
You got it connected at least!!!! For a fact wazapp is not working/syncing contacts anymore, thats why you need to install Whatsup and as soon.as you open it, whatsup will automatically ask you to import account from wazapp. Import it and use whatsup
|
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
I must be doing something wrong. I deleted all that I could fid about whazapp and whatsup at least 4 times already and when I re-install them I still don't get any where. The only difference now is that there are no conversations showing from before. I have followed the directions of downloading wazapp and installing it then installing wazapppath and then re-boot the N9. Launch wazapp says connecting, dont think it actually connects. I have no contacts to send a message to. Install whatsup, launch it, asks to download wazapp file, yes. No contacts and no connection in whatsup. ?????
|
Maybe not sure what, but either way, i deleted my account and uninstalled everything and when i get home from work, I will make a video showing you all the steps one by one, hopefully it works for me and can help you too.. Ttyl x)

Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
I have tried several times to get a code directly via whatup to no avail, no matter how long I wait between attempts I always get a registration error : "Server response was: too_many".
I also tried WART and while I was able to get a password, and embed it in the whatup.conf file as instructed in first post (as user not root) , when re-starting Whatsup the app still expects me to register.... In other words the first screen shown is the registration screen. Can anyone provide insight on how to resolve that? |

Like I said, I have no problems with entering the number. Just to let you know that the provided website and WART has nothing to do with Whatsup. So when you do not receive any message, it has something to do with your number. Try a different number of a friend/family member just to see if they will receive any message. Don't worry, nothing will happen if they receive the message. |
Re: Registering Whatsup using WART
