Whatsup - Harmattan client [UPDATED 29-03-2016]
 

I think everybody knows whatsup, and the problems I had last year that forces me to abandon all my projects.
Now I'm back and I've started working on this app again.
It's based on 0.1.8 version and the latest version was 0.3.4, so please don't make comments telling me that 0.3.4 is more stable, cause it has 16 releases ahead.
There's a lot of things I need to fix and a lot of code to improve.

I made a issue tracker at bitbucket. Please help me posting all problems there.

How to customize message bubbles:
- Download attached custom-bubbles.zip
- Extract .custom folder
- Tweak images as you want (also you can remove them to get transparent bubbles)
- Edit settings.ini (font colors and size)
- Copy .custom folder to /home/user/MyDocs/Whatsup
- Enable custom bubbles in whatsup settings

Welcome back Cepi!

Great that you included Sailfish theme, fits very great with the Sailfish theme made by Ancelad :)

Now lets hunt down all the bugs and go to verison 0.3.5 ;)

Guys, once again:
IF YOU HAVE USED OFFICIAL WHATSAPP CLIENT, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE MESSAGES ON WHATSUP ANYMORE BECAUSE YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE USING AN ENCRYPTION!

THERE IS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS (YET)!!!!

so please stop asking about the same question over and over again guys!

Hi it looks great indeed (the sailfish theme).. And welcome back !!

Found a little bug if i use sailfish theme the profile pictures are blank (gone).. if i switch to black or white then all the pictures are back..

Oh, I forgot about this.
At the moment, you need to remove /home/user/.cache/whatsup folder.
Then resync pictures and you will get it working

How did you get that status bar :D Jolla doesn't normally have it ;)

It's amazing for an almost first version! Picture and voice uploads work fine. I'm hoping battery usage will be as good as in the older versions as well. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to testing it more!

I can't send audio files(mp3 for example) on the old en new version any more Whatsup freeze after a pressing on de send button?

10 days. I was failing before I get it (dead pixels and charging problems). Now it dies.

Same you have in 0.1.8 with some fixes like profile picture, and maybe some old bugs are back.

I need a phone, so I'll buy something when I get some money. I hope I can get another n9

i know that it's not a right time for bug reports, but i will write it here anyway) I installed Whatsup yesterday and sent two voice messages to my friend. He said, that the recordings had some issues, i'll check it today, when i see him personally, cause i didn't get it, when he was trying to explain.
Also, just a few moments ago, there was a notification, that there is not enough space on the phone. Long story short, the file temprecord.wav has size of 1.06 Gb now. For some reason, the process /usr/bin/arecord is still running though i've closed whatsup earlier with Quit option.

thx cepi, loading time after quit command is longer and consume more % processor ,maybe because is not fresh install.

I like the new share option, after i press share takes me direct to contact list, how was in 0.3.4 was annoying if you share to only 1 person to press one more button, add button. But now i bet is annoying like hell for people who wanna share same thing to more than 1 person, to add one person at a time because you cant multi-select people from contacts. So it needs another option under add button named for example add multiple>>> but please dont change the way its now, its perfect.

Cons:
Media gallery is missing.
Set custom background for random people is missing
Add to favourites (messages) is missing.
If a person is online and you disconnect from internet and you enter again shows you that person is online and has that green dot.

Pro:
recording button is in right, i always pressed on him when i wanted to send an attachement.
When i enter to send a picture loads faster and you can change faster from those 3 options>>gallery, favourites and whatsapp pictures. Idk if is from faster N9.
a little bit improvement at loading messages when you load them pressing More and at a scrolling, its not a big improvement but you see difference, agaian idk if is from Faster N9.

Thats all for now, if i find more i write here.

One more question? Can you make Whatsup to show you offline when you have internet connection but whatsup is running in daemon process, not open, and show you online only when you are in whatsup app?

Well, a recording, I sent from my N9 are two times longer on my friend's Android (it's some htc, if that matters), than the original. The second part of the rec is the same as the original rec, but heavily distorted. So, for example, if I send "Hello", he will hear "Hello.....HFEEUAYTLUELO" :D And when I play what I sent on my N9 everything's ok.

Other bug: In offline mode, not connected to internet, dosent show you time for last seen at a person, under the avatar like in 0.3.4 version.

1. [BUG] When I play music. When I'm in a Chat (on whatsup conversation page), if that person send a message again to me. The MUSIC is STOPED when the message come in.
So, is it a BUG!?

2. [Question] I can't find Music Now Playing Status updater on this version :D

3. [BUG] [HELP] Still the same problem on my PHONE, it can't reconnect after d connection is disconnected, even if I push connect button on Whatsup icon.
Em i always have to restart the whatsup :D
Is it only happen to me!? :D
I'v try to uninstall n reisntall whatsup client :D

you need install cepi´s lame mp3-patch for whatsup, then it works ;)

And one more.

my connection is 100% Normal (I think) amd I use 3.5G Mode.
But can't send the BroadCast message :D

tried the new version of whatsup today. still cant register. says waiting for sms. i dont have sms. how would i register? wazapp works half way. i can send a message but not receive one?????

I think it's a good thing specially when you're using a short ringing tune as a sound notification.

If it says "waiting for sms" then probably you are writing bad your phone number. Please send me logfiles.

Bug:

if you resync contacts and finds you new contacts they will be with blue, but even if you see contacts, blue notifications goes away but number of contacts notifications at contact tab remains. http://i.imgur.com/z29l4b4.png

When you set status and push name on Black theme you cant see nothing when you write, is black on black. ;) http://i.imgur.com/R0kdUD9.png

And all bugs i writed until now i can confirm them again, i installed fresh whatsup 1.0.2, first time was installed on 0.3.4 version.

It distrubing me when I play music cos I always standby on my CP. :/

many of us are glad about your so far support on whatsup client for N9. I would be personally willing to help you buy a used N9 by donating few Euros. If others join it should be easy to collect the at least 100 Euros necessary to buy a used one from ebay.

many of us are glad about your so far support on whatsup client for N9. I would be personally willing to help you buy a used N9 by donating few Euros. If others join it should be easy to collect the at least 100 Euros necessary to buy a used one from ebay.
