Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

it would seem that when updating an andro app like from some store, the notification sound plays all the time. can this be prevented since it doesnt feel normal?
Thanks!

Thank you for the update, but just to let you know: The update did not solve the multiple notifications for me... Anything I can do to help you (logs, ...)?

See my post above - I had the same issue as andreas1.
0.2.0 didn't fix this, but now with 0.2.2 it is much better.

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

Is it possible to have your app ignore notifications from specific android apps? While it works really well with whatsapp for example, it makes listening to android spotify a frustrating experience as you get multiple notifications while playing a track (making the music fade out).

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

yes, blacklist and whitelist are planned for next update

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

I would like to disable sound notifications, as I already activated them inside Android Dalvik (like Jolla suggested via Zedge app). Now I get double sound notifications :D

Hello and thanks for great app.

I noticed that after installing this app all android notifications are playing the sound. I mean this is basically the point but for example I want to mute whattsapp group messages but normal messages I want to hear. But now mute is not working. So bling bling sound every 5 seconds is pretty annoying:P Is it possible to add some features in the next updates?

For this case absolutely no. Application can't know if this is notification for muted contact or not.

ok thanks. another question tho. In android whattsapp there is this pop up setting which creates a new window to your screen/multitasking window which shows the message you got and you are able to instantly reply to it. Do you know if it is anyway possible to monitor this pop up/message and possibly forward it. I am interested in this because I am a pebble watch user and atm. Android whattsapp only creates notification, " one new message " instead of the actual text and this is forwarded to the watch. Back in the days mitakuuluu showed the actual message in pebble which was great.

Released v0.5.0 with more options

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

from where do you access the whitelist-page? its not via app icon or settings>apps etc?
edit: warehouse showed older version, so all good.

oh, and btw, how do you control the volume level of the notifications? it seems not to be connected to the system-wide-notification-thing?

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

I don't know if it's related to Skype itself or what, but I don't get a notification for new Skype chat messages. Has anyone got it working?

I have Skype whitelisted and assigned to to chat category.

I'm not controlling it. System producing sound by category.

Yes.

Only connection related notifications appear on events screen, not IM notifications. I'm using the latest Skype available from Yandex (5.1.0.57615).

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

I got a problem after factory reset and updating back to 1.1.2.16. Now 0.5.0 or 0.5.1 doesnt work anymore. 0.2.0 still works so maybe its about white/blacklist? I tried reboots and reinstalls but nothing happens when i get a notification to the events screen. Before resetting my phone i had 0.5.0 installed and it worked nicely. Any help?

coderus 2015-03-01 19:06

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

what is your configuration of app?
show output of systemctl --user status android-notifications

synt 2015-03-01 19:37

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

Code:

[nemo@Jolla ~]$ systemctl --user status android-notifications
android-notifications.service - Android notifications
  Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/user/android-notifications.service; disabled)
Active: active (running) since Sun 2015-03-01 21:31:06 EET; 1min 44s ago
 Main PID: 1260 (invoker)
  CGroup: /user.slice/user-100000.slice/user@100000.service/android-notifications.service
          └─1260 /usr/bin/invoker -s --type=silica-qt5 /usr/bin/android-notifications

I just saw your warning about the Aliendalvik cleanup, that was the reason why i had to do the reset in the first place :)

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

show how application is configured

synt 2015-03-01 20:24

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

Umm ok but changing configuration doesnt matter. Whitelist/blacklist, default category or assigned category makes no difference. Here is a screenshot anyway: Dropbox link

The 1 whitelisted app is aptoide that i use to test because it always sends notification when you start it. Also if i change to blacklist with 0 apps it still wont work.

coderus 2015-03-01 20:32

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

set blacklist mode and do following:
systemctl --user stop anroid-notifications
android-notifications
and then show me contents of terminal window after you will receive some notifications

synt 2015-03-01 20:56

Re: [Support thread] Android notifications

Code:

[nemo@Jolla ~]$ systemctl --user stop android-notifications
[nemo@Jolla ~]$ android-notifications
[D] NotificationsWatcher::start:64 - Service registered successfully!

and then nothing even if i get notifications... Tested with aptoide. Notifications go to events view. Configuration is blacklist with 0 apps in list + defaults.
