actually i didnt find any support thread on this so i created a new one ;
facebook sharing bug - it asks for email and pass wheras it should ask username password
oth its working fine after inputting my username on email feild. :eek:

It asks for email and pass and when I enter my email and pass it works :P

:eek: believe me i scratched my head for fifteen minutes to make it work at last i noticed the error banner it said " wrong username or password i enterd my username it validated ok
oth the wiget still does not work
and i would like to ask how you consume fb on n900 i.e facebook.com
also while validation the fb authorisation page was nice fast and smooth the same i noticed for cutetubes authorisation page they work better then any browser why ?
will it be any good to make a simple browser with the same tech with just bookmarks (speed dial ) urlbar cookies ? maybe just for acessing fb twitter and similar acrane stuff

I use opera on n900 to access m.facebook.com, it works even better than on my ipad. Snappy. Not the latest opera, but version from before (ovi repo or extras)

I use method 5 of the location bar search tweaks listed in the wiki page linked to in my sig below and have added the lines to search.htm - this means entrering f in the location bar takes me straight to m.facebook.com and t to m.twitter.com. Better yet, t someone takes me to @someone's twitter page and f someone to their Facebook profile.

But, I have two repos I can't update in HAM, nor FAPman.

Jep, I've got that, I can see the package, but when i want to install it, the linked errors occurs, because I think it needs some deps that I can't acces without the two defected repos.

btw you dont need them you need extras devel i gess you have it enabled so search facebook the package should be feedservice-plugin-fb-common
also i guess as you removed fb piror thats why you dont get it as update

next cssu update should purge all non functional nokia cruft
would be most useful after a reflash when updating to cssu

Yep, I removed the entire Fb-related stuff before, because it's not worked anyway, for a long time, and I'm not hoped that anyone will fix it in foreseeable future. :) I'm glad I'm wrong, btw.

Yes, I have extras enabled (testing and devel too).
I tried that package before, same result.
Anyone have this feedservice2 stuff in deb? :D

I tried manually search, download, and install the necessary packages from here:

I'm only found feedservice2-dev, which is installed succesfully (along with "sharing-service-facebook" and "feedservice-plugin-fb-common"), but it's pain in the *ss, apparently feedservice2-dev isn't the right package (the other two ignores it, lol).

Wow... it's working with these unconfigured packages.
I went to settings, sharing accounts, and noticed that the Facebook is in it now.
Validation with username and password completed succesfully, so it should work now.

Edit: nope, it's not working. It's on the list, but when i want to upload a file, it's not uploading, but send some data constatly... I wanted to share a 120kb file, it's uploading it for a while and its 9MB data sent up counted just from that point. :(

apt-get -f install removes the manually installed "sharing-service-facebook" and "feedservice-plugin-fb-common", because feedservice2 still not exist anywhere, not in the repos, nor in the device.

Edit 2:
It's not the faulty Fb uploader that utilizes the constant upload, it's something else. Dunno what. I1m trying to figure it out now.

i have an idea
remove all fb related stuff
enable linked mirrors
disable extras devel
install facebook installer
proceed with usual installation by clicking it or find and install facebook photo uploader
then enable extras devel
refresh and it should come as an update

This method ( http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=103 ) is worked, repos updated, facebook-installer installs, but when I open it, it opened the app manager, and I've got error from it about it can't find the right packages or something like that I suppose. (It's trying to find the old Nokia repos, it ignores the backup ones).

When I want to install manually the Fb packages one by one, I came to the usual stuff: feedservice2 is not installable.
So it's not a repo issue, this package, if it's ever existed, it's disappeared by now.
I'm most certainly don't want to reflash my device just for trying if Fb is working on a fresh system or not.
I just wanted this one simple stuff to working correctly, but I think in my level of noobism, it's not possible. :D

With regards to feedservice2/OVI repo, what's the plan with this going forward? I know we can google the missing file at the moment, but for end users it's not a really an ideal position. Can we host/mirror repo and replace default repo address via an update or is this yet another package we're going to have to RE?

I will RE feedsevice2 and put it in extras as soon as I have some spare time. However, the "OVI store down" problem should be somehow fixed, I guess we have BoD exactly for situations like that.

On a side note - supl.nokia.com server certificate expired on 16th of April, fortunately it turned out that supl.google.com works.

Well, it worked until now. :D
This time, I getting this constantly when I want to share a picture (no matter what size or resolution), nor that wifi or 3G.
This picture in the shot is taken with a WP phone, but same happens with N900-taken pics.
