Hello, since I am new with my 770, I wonder if there is a skype version available for it. anyone knows?

just wondering will there ever be a way to do skype chat from the 770? It seems to be available for most things even the iphone! Just a simple web based chat would be perfect... I think it's too late to teach my dad to use googlechat

Not skype, but gizmo works well. Google for it and look for the 770 downloadable.

I was able to install skype on the latest OS2007 HE.
skype started and was showing the skype screen. But not response to any touch, then killed by the system.

You can download skype for n800 from here

or add the repository and install skype-ui

It seems that most libraries used by skype work. Please have a try to see if we can hack it.

hahaha. that really describes me as well. just wish that the n800 had a cover like the 770 for my accident-prone self.

I have/use Gizmo as well as Pidgin - one or the other - have an IPKall # directed to my Gizmo install... but I have some business and friend contacts on Skype that aren't anywhere else.
