Kagu needs a youtube video

Hey, I don't own a video camera. Would anyone mind doing a little youtube video walkthrough on Kagu highlighting the kinetic scrolling and showing off the album art features and such?

I'm thinking something like the Canola video manuals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hCg90Pz0as

And the konttori's cool UKMP videos:
http://konttoristhoughts.blogspot.co...6/ukmp-13.html

And the Chris Lord kinetic scrolling videos:
http://crunchgear.com/2007/08/03/nok...tic-scrolling/

Something like that. Any takers?

I might just be able to oblige. I don't have my camera with me at the moment, but I'll see what I can do.

I've got a request for you Tony: Can you show the album art zoom and the seek control too maybe? Edit it onto the end of the video, or do a separate video? Either would be fine.

Hehe, I guess I should play around with it some more so I have an idea what you're talking about... I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, that's exactly why we need a video. That functionality is "hidden". Tap the album cover once to see nowplaying view, tap it twice to zoom on the cover. tap a third time to see the seek view.

Also, you can do Menu -> Albums -> Songs and tap the upper left song album art button to zoom that too.

Methinks young TonyMaro has found himself a parallel career. Great job and I look forward to more. And I learned a lot too.

Turn off the overhead light, that's what's causing the glare and makes it hard to see the screen.
Setup VNC and use some sort of PC-based video-screen capture program to capture everything there.
Then in editing just fade between the two.

Re: Kagu needs a youtube video

I tried turning off the light, but the camera refused to focus when I did. I'll check out
the vnc option, but I had just assumed it would suck with all the motion.

And as for young, I've got 4 kids the oldest is 16 ;-)

Nice overview video, Tony. Thanks!

Just one suggestion: The embedded YouTube player just shows a blank square on my 770. Could you put also a link to the actual video in your blog? Then it would be easy to copy and paste this link to UKTUBE.

Re: Kagu needs a youtube video

VNC is useless for recording these things. It's just too slow on screen updates to catch the motion. Any other suggestions of how to reduce glare? Like I stated, my camera wouldn't focus without the room's lights on. I tried using a 150 watt bulb that was slightly above and behind the device, but it didn't help.

Tragos: I added the link.

I like the way you did it. my only suggestion might be to zoom in a bit when clicking the icons, and maybe use your finger, since it's designed as a finger friendly UI.

Anyone care to re-do the video for the new sexy 1.0.8 theme and perhaps some of our new advanced features?
