[N9] Facebook[SOLVED (sort of)] & Gmail[SOLVED] services not working.Bypasing Maps & Drive[SOLVED] Anyone?
 
Tried everything I found in the forum treads, but nothing helped.
Ended with Zeroize firmware flash - still not working.
But Skype service is working just fine.
Is it only my device or what?

You can use jabber for google talk. Icq doesn't work also.
I saw there's hangouts app for sailfish. Maybe someone's going to port it for harmattan, but I doubt in that possibility.

I read somwhere that changing login.oscar.aol.com to login.icq.com can resolve incorrect password issue when loging to icq. How can we change that if there is no option?

Claro, Mail from google still works on my N9. I never configurd a Google account, only the mail account. In this moment, checking my mails, it still works

Yes. With mail for exchange.

Yes. It works because you loged in with it before google changed it's login protocol, but now you wouldn't be able to (and don't try to do that if you want to preserve its functionality).
For example, if you flash your N9 for some reason and you try to create Google account, you will be able to create it, but you won't be able to login with it anymore.

Hey, guys please explain!
what is jabber and how to use it?!
yesterday my facebook app for N9 stoped working properly. so I couldn't be available in facebook, but Skype works yet. (it slow the messages and the messages have delayed) I have cleared my device and I recieved one more problem...my nokia account couldn't signed in! therefore I couldn't download my maps in NOKIA MAPS and DRIVE...obviously my N9 will gonna be needless...sooo,,,PLEASE, explain how to fix the facebook problem (to go online again) and how do start use my DRIVE application again?!
P.S. Sorry, for my English but i'learning it right now,

I am not sure but it looks like I found the reason of of some of the problems with Facebook - here and here.
So Facebook is going to shut down Jabber/XMPP chatting via chat.facebook.com.

Yes, i have installed "ExtraPlugins Accounts UI" on my N9. I restart my phone. Now i have more account choices in ACCOUNTS on my N9 menu. So, i dont understand yet (i have searched for that) , how to make my FB account work properly again?! I saw something for Jabber/XMPP, but i dont find an explanation, how do i use it and to switch on my FB chat and availability again? Please, help me, thank you in advance!

So?! It's no way to use facebook application through N9?! My main idea is to chat with my facebook friends through MeeGoo messenger, as i do that with skype yet. also i want to watch out for the online users in facebook at the moment. it was very user friendly, because the facebook contacts was in phonebook...it was great! :confused:

Well, if jabber doesn't work for Facebook then there's no way to do what you want.
I don't use Facebook so I didn't know about that.

Noop. Make new gmail account on my second phone (without any mail accounts) and its still working

I didn't mention gmail account. I wrote google account. It includes google contacts, mail and talk all in one. By making just gmail account on N9 with mail for exchange or other mail account you don't get access to google talk...

@Saleki Reading and understanding is important before criticize. It is not your thread.

@noobismall was asking for using gmail with "other mail account" that i was responding, especally for mail and this is still working.
If you @saleki like to mention de write over google-account, you are in the wrong thread.
I never mentioned to use Googleaccount on an N9, i never will give Google full access to my phone. If i like that, i had an Android phone

Facebook chat does work, using jabber plugin,

login name is your-facebook-id@chat.facebook.com
password is your facebook password
set server to chat.facebook.com

Ok. I didn't want to criticize. He said he didn't menage to solve the problem with other mail account so I wrote the setup with mail for exchange. It's in one of my posts earlier in this thread. Sorry if it looked offending. There's no need to be so territorial about this thread. Cheers :-)

I'll try. The facebook ID is a series of numbers, isn't it?! I didnt have a need of this ID before, so that's the reason of my question yet! Also, I saw that over the login name and the pass has a Display Name...may be that is by request, isn't it?!

It might be a series of numbers. Depends on what you set up.
Go to account settings/generel and get the id from there.
See my screenshot.

@nieldk Dude, you are awesome one! Thank you a lot for your help! Now i have the facebook chat via MeeGo msngr, again!!!! Its MARVELOUS!!! Thank you a lot! I assure you, that Jabber working and MeeGo Facebook app is still alive!
Type your nickname, than your login, your pass, click sign in. Than open the Jabba acount again and type: chat.facebook.com in the server name box, just under the pass box. thats all! Special thanks to nieldk, again!

the id is a series of numbers. i have entered in the general options in facebook (like nieldk said) and there has a proposal for an e-mail adress. before the "@" sign, it has a series of numbers. that series is your ID!

actually, I believe both will work.
I dont use the number, but the name shown in the settings page.

In connection with the second part of the title of this theme...i'll gonna be asking something....

I made all of the actions and I recieved two problems:

1. I have been there: http://www.tusfiles.net/yzswp1ajqc93 (http://www.tusfiles.net/tp5qbpsy1zi8)
I have downloaded the Drive.ini (and Maps.config) but this file have not finished with ini. it finished with .exe when i'v dowload it. The icon in Downloads are different and the exe file is 2MB, but the ini file is 1KB...so the question is why my phone download Drive.ini.exe (Maps.config.exe)?! and how to download only drive.ini file?

2. When it explains me about Drive.ini (Maps.config) i have to copy Drive.ini (Maps.config) from /Downloads, and Copy to /Nokia...the question is HOW to paste in /NOKIA?! I have backup the old drive file, but i dont know how to paste the new one there...it seems, there is no "paste" option for that....

Other methods to get the Facebook ID:
1. Method
Visit the Facebook site on a PC and go to your profile.
In address bar you will see:
Code:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=x
This x number is the ID.


2. Method
Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?ta...ion=email&view
You will see an option:
Code:
Use your e-mail address on Facebook: x@facebook.com
Again this x number is the ID.

cant understand that info, it doesn't works. I go to drive.ini file through the phone, but cant understand how to edit it and to add the code "ssoDone=true" :eek:
