Code:

ssu re whatever.the.release.number.is
version --dup

Works well, and you can keep using your phone as it's being updated!

version --dup fails with some glibc error saying that it cannot find glibc :( I think my system is broken now. I never ever messed with the system, I'm just a regular end user, so I don't know how this could've happened... :(

How to solve this? I don't wanna reset the system *yet again*. If so, I will ditch the Jolla Phone this time (it has happened too many times that the system got screwed up by itself and I'm sick of that, even as a big Jolla fan!) and will only use the Jolla Tablet but will use a different smartphone (BB is my choice then).

Have you done a pkcon refresh ?

Did you ask your question inTJC? It seems they have data replication issues and that they are working on it. Maybe it's related.

I have something similar as I cannot install/update or remove an app neither from the Jolla store nor from Openrepos. Pkcon refresh gives the following:

[nemo@Jolla ~]$ pkcon refresh Refreshing cache Waiting in queue Waiting for authentication Waiting in queue Starting Fatal error: Could not configure normal mode. [nemo@Jolla ~]$

Edit: Solved! Thanks to Coderus, here.

@Jordi: I cannot even open the terminal (it opens the app cover, then closes) so how am I supposed to insert those commands coderus posted?

Tried that (after a quick web search how to do it). Putty says "connection has been dropped" right after connecting and SSH in a terminal window from Linux says

"vistausss@vistausss-Lemur:~/Downloads/Sachesi-2.0.2$ ssh nemo@192.168.1.11
ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer
vistausss@vistausss-Lemur:~/Downloads/Sachesi-2.0.2$
"

What to do now? :(
(I have dev mode enabled on my Jolla and set a password)

Have you connected the device with USB to your Computer? Then the address normally is 192.168.2.15 so:
ssh nemo@192.168.2.15

I used WLAN. But I now tried the USB variant and it just doesn't do anything.

"vistausss@vistausss-Lemur:~$ ssh nemo@192.168.2.15
"

(no output or anything, as you can see)

No. I'm kinda scared to reboot it. But I will try that now anyway.

Recovery mode in a shell, tried coderus' commands to no avail :(

Type the number of the desired action and press [Enter]:
4

If you continue, this may void your warranty. Are you really SURE? [y/N] y[OK] No lockcode has been set. Proceeding...
/ # unlink /var/cache/pk-zypp-cache
sh: unlink: not found
/ # mv /var/cache/pk-zypp-cache /var/cache/.pk-zypp-cache
mv: can't rename '/var/cache/pk-zypp-cache': No such file or directory
/ #

And now it doesn't boot anymore... (bootloop) Recovery mode didn't fix that either. Recovery mode has always been useless for me in the past 1,5 years.

You'll have to mount rootfs first and then chroot into it. Then you'll be able to run those commands. Please search Google for those commands, as I can't do that right now, but googling 'recovery mode Jolla chroot' will probably do the trick. Good luck!

But if the phone doesn't boot anymore for the gazillonth time in 1,5 years, I dunno if those commands are gonna fix it...

I do not know that either. Actually, you will never know unless you will try it... :)

Re: Bricked Sailfish env/install, help needed!

Now it can't even reach recovery mode anymore over telnet. Man, why do I always have these problems with my Jolla :( I've had this multiple times in the past 1,5 years and I'm about the least experimental guy on here...

So that means I'll have to send it to Jolla, once again. Gonna pass this time. I'm a biiiiig Jolla fan but I've had it with these stupid update problems all the time. I'm gonna stay on TMO for the tablet I'm about to receive, but I'm gonna switch to BB now phone-wise.

Thanks for all the help yesterday and today, guys! :)
