Camera phone competition February 2016:"Landscapes"

It's February and it should be a bit more sunny than before for the northern hemisphere. robthebold says:
Let's go with something simple, but still specific enough to spur a little bit of our creativity: landscape. I'd say it could be any kind: mountains and fields, forests and jungles, cityscapes, streetscapes, seascapes, snowscapes, natural or built.

And the weather certainly allows for some nice landscape shooting.
The rules are:
Photos must be taken during this montH
Photos must be taken by the posting member
Photos must be taken with a camera phone
Users post only one photo per entry
Users can change the entry only once
Users must name the phone they used
(so I could include it for voting)
Last three days of this month are for voting
Good luck everyone.

Last month's theme.

Nice theme Robthebold! Hope we have more entries this month!

Yeah, I'm hoping as well. I certainly don't want another bi-monthly.

Re: Camera phone competition February 2016:"Landscapes"

I thought that I could enhance the picture making the landscape goes behind on a second plane. So, I've highlighted that little wall and a specimen of Laguncularia racemosa. Hope that this doesn't unqualified me. :D

N900 as always.
Edit: no post-processing AT ALL.

Question was similar last time ;)
Maybe we could agree that editing is fine, as long as all steps are documented within the post?

I think the voters are competent enough then to take editing into concideration and vote according to theyr personal preference.

saponga 2016-02-16 00:42

Re: Camera phone competition February 2016:"Landscapes"

AFAIK a little cropping is allowed but I am against more editing than that because i think this, as a camera competition, it is all about capturing and NOT processing. :)

The view from my office window. As far as office window views go, I think this is not the worst. Took last Thursday (11 February 2016) with a Jolla. I have been procrastinating with uploading because I am still hoping for a rainbow but I suppose I can't have everything ;)

So it is summer already in UK?

No, it's still winter. I'm in midland today and this morning was -3, probably going to snow tomorrow.

There was frost this morning and we had quite a few cloudy days and strong winds recently but right now the view from my window looks just like the one in the picture.

Spring has arrived early this year. We had daffodils flowering in late January. My fruit trees have started sprouting leaves. Mother nature has gone mad.

Nice pic and nice view. Ah, green. Sorry about the rainbow, but you can change once I believe, so there's still hope.

For me, with very little snow, rain, or other precipitation here, my landscape's gonna be beiger than a brand-new subdivision on ribbon cutting day.

At least we'll be having mild temperatures for a little while to get out and shoot some . . . as long as one doesn't mind 29mph/47km/h breezes.

Well... This is my first picture for this competition... I had bad day at work so i came home early and sun was still shining... I would name this "Reflection"

http://huispaus.ucs.fi/tmp/16020016.jpg

...and phone (camera) was My Precious -> N9

I'm sorry about flooding but i had to release this also... Picture quality is very bad but story is better... Both sun and moon, same time, at the same yard... (That was sun in the first picture ;) )

Name is "Two old Trees"

I have some different scene here:

Chinese Lunar New Year's eve at dusk in Hong Kong, from East Tsim Sha Tsui facing Hong Kong island and Vitoria Harbour. I was waiting for a midnight flight back to UK and everything was peaceful that moment.

Took with BB Priv (which I can't wait to get rid of it. Poor HW and buggy SW. Worst BB product ever!)

You need to link to the image, not to the page containing it:

Note to judges: This is NOT my entry. It is not even catbus' entry. It is just a random picture. Sorry about the confusion :)

Sometimes weird things happen to linked pictures. And thanks for joining in with a contribution.

The whitebalance sure sucks in that, even more on the web than when am looking at it on the computer... bummer!

Re: Camera phone competition February 2016:"Landscapes"

Enough snow to snowboard all day. On these kind of temperature I'd just turn on all sensors on the N5 to keep it from freezing. Nice picture btw.

Snow, my old friend and bitter enemy. Snow that killed my first N9. Well, not the snow exactly, but the relocation thereof that resulted in the thermal cycling that I believe broke some marginal component of the aforementioned device.

Anyway, a snow-free landscape that I call: 'Not Safe for Skating'.

Finally managed to get out into fresh air and found a decent postcard spot to represent my local landscape in time and compete.

You see the river rhine north of düsseldorf pov to north.
Shot is done with Nokia N8 4:3, i resized from 12MP and did crop to 16:9 because the bridge cried for it!

And slightly late answer to you half-life_4_life because i missed the question :o

Nice crop -- cool bridge. I don't remember seeing that while cruising down the river several years ago, so I assume we passed it after dark. :( (The captain must have assumed that castles were more photogenic when budgeting travel time.)

N8 is almost 6 years and it's camera still better than a lot of smartphone nowadays.

What a waste of technology that it was sold to MS...

Hello again :) Although I am not even sure the photo below qualifies as "landscape" (well, at least it's no portrait ;) ) it is highly unlikely I'd manage to get anything better until dealine. So, made with N9 and cropped a bit:

Here's http://lemur.hg.pl/i/p/1gvskeu.jpeg uncropped original

Oh. There was a kind of primitive access control, based on Referer: header... anyway, I just have turned it off, so there should be no problem.

Out of curiosity:was there anything special about the way you view it? Some Referer-mangling extension (RefControl or alike) or manually copying the link?

Negative. Just reading TMO. Your post had just the text visible, no picture.
I then clicked the link which opened a new browser tab that gave me a 403.

IIRC to be eligible one needs to enter a picture taken by oneself.
So you would need to ask your wife to join as a member and post the picture :D
Very nice view, BTW.
