Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
I managed to get used Oneplus One quite cheap. Amazing value for money and Sailfish looks really nice on it.
Discussion is little bit slow in Oneplus One forum and XDA. Anyone else owning Oneplus One? There are some problems still with current port and I was hoping that here might be more people who might be interested to investigate/possibly all together support that port in small way. Discussion can start (hopefully). :) |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
There is some discussion about "voice call echo" problem here:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...#post-14546390 Could this 3 mic HW setup be cause of voice call echo? I checked HADK and Audio part 13.8 is empty. http://releases.sailfishos.org/sfe/S...tKit-1.1.1.pdf Does some know how voice inputs(?) might be configured? |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Will this work on any version of the Oneplus One or only on certain version? Similar to Sailfish on the Nexus 5 which only works on the EU version.

Where does it say that only EU versions of Nexus 5 work with Sailfish? I have assumed that it works with all versions but I have no idea. Test and you shall find out! ;) |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
While reading the thread Sailfish 2.0 on a Nexus 5 starting with post #420 through post #425 I got the impression that Sailfish would work on the European or International version but not the US version. Unless I read this wrong because of what bands are in the radio of the phone.
Also while looking around for a Nexus 5 I found something called a N 5X. |

If you have Nexus 5 or Oneplus One which have HW that supports specific band (US, Europe, Asia etc. how many different models they have?) -> it will or will not work in your network depending what bands your network uses. It should be same (of course some limitation might be depending port) weather you run Android or SailfishOS in that phone. So buy phone which support your home network and Sailfish should work as well. |

Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
It seems that Oneplus x has working camera.
Does someone know if there might be workaround to get camera working on Oneplus One? |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
According to articles I am starting to see the One Plus 3 will have either 4 gb or 6 gb of ram and come in either 32gb or 64gb of memory. Also power by the Sd 820 processor.

Why not one plus x ? Port already exists and works like a charm, the device has a lower price and is not a saucepan

New version of Bacon port! :D Thanks for yacuken!!!
"sailfishos-bacon-release-2.0.2.51-yet_another_alpha2" https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...#post-15227029 Unfortunatly sensors missing. I really would like to have orientation. ;) "Hi. Sensors (like accelerometer, orientation, gyroscope and others) doesn't work for now. I'm looking for fix, but it's harder than I thought" https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...#post-15220472 But now camera works! Finally nice pictures with low light and sailfishos! :D |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
I was only informing people here about the One Plus 3

This thread was started about support for the One + 1 and I added a post about that One + is coming out with a 3rd model. Sorry I did not mean to hijack this thread or confuse anyone.

Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Really sry to ask something totally irrelevant here.. I dont know if I am allowed to start a new thread.. Since all you people are some kind of technical experts, can anyone please tell me if anyone has tried porting Sailfish to Mi5? Its compact and has better specs and better battery. Now I wouldnt want to start a debate as to whether it is better than Oneplus X.. I am just curious if this has been attempted before. Thanks in advance.

the current libhybris should work with any chipset thats not Qualcomm

Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Thank you nh1402 and m4r0v3r. So my understanding is that currently there is no support for CM13 and Snapdragon.. which leads me to believe that we may have support in future, right?
I have a Jolla Jolla, and would like to buy a new one. Though I am from India and the price of a Intex Sailfish is very low, the specs hardly inspires me to go for it. And I don't want to go for an android phone.. Not after using Sailfish from Feb 2014.. When I see the list of other devices where Sailfish has been ported, Fairphone and Oneplus X seem to be the ones with most success.. I cant afford a Fairphone and a used Oneplus X is almost as costly as a new Mi5, hence my question. |

Just got a new (to me) oneplus one to play around with sailfish. I installed multirom with the hope of trying plasma mobile and ubuntu touch for fun, too. Installed SFOS 2.0.4.13 and 2.0.2.48.
Camera works, supposedly sensors working on 2.0.4.13, but I can't confirm that yet. Also can't try phone functions since it requiandres a nano SIM and I'm not ready to cut down my micro SIM from my N9. Doesn't look like I'll be able to.try Plasma, linls in tutorial for OPO are broken. :( Ubuntu touch had nasty habit of not turning the screen back on when unlocking the screen with the button. |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
accelerometer works ok, display rotates as expected with device. Blurtooth seems buggy or maybe just hard to figure out. I can pair the OnePlus One with my N9 but can't actually do anything. GPS doesn't work. Don't know if I'd ever be able to use this as main phone just do to massive size, even if it turns out telephony works.
|
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
OK, GPS can be made to work. I followed the instructions in this post in the OnePlus forums.
Haven't tried the compass fix yet. Also, I can't get Poor maps to install for want of qt5-plugin-geoservices-here, possibly because I don't have the proper repo enabled. Ed: Poor maps will work, but care must be taken to install the correct version. In my case, running SFOS 2.0.4, an older version of Poor Maps must be installed from openrepos website to be conpatible with corresponding Jolla libraries. Warehouse app can't currently sort out these dependency issues, so manual intervention is needed in this cade. I have a lot of catching up to do in RPM package management... Ed 2: fixed link to instructions, thanks to aspergerguy |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Just noticed while the One was charging on nightstand next to N9 and N900 (wouldn't want a lonely phone) that the status LED thar works on Ubuntu Touch and Cyanogen doesn't work for Sailfish. I've ordered a SIM trimmer, so I'll find out soon about telephony...

Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Already sorry for my stupid and/or offtopic question, but isn't it so that there is no Android support in any community port?
My J1 is showing some marks of getting old and I'm getting a bit worried about the future of my mobile devices. Wouldn't like to get a J1 anymore for two reasons; the build quality is too bad, so it should be brand new, or it might not stay in one piece any longer than my current J1. Also the internals are getting a bit old, and I'm looking for a bit more long-term option. Also tried JC, but it was far too bulky and ugly, and maybe too big also. Anyway I'd like to stay with Sailfish, so I'm looking for a community port. According to this site Fairphone and Oneplus X should be most functional ports. Fairphone is too big, but Oneplus X in on the edge. Definitely too slippery, but perhaps some rubber case could help with that :D Perhaps Moto G could also be an option, but since it's already older, I predict it getting old faster than Oneplus X. The only Android app I'm feeling like I need to have, is Whatsapp. And no, I'm not going to demand my friends to switch Telegram or whatever. So since there is no native WA available anymore, I feel like I have to stay with Android support. I want to highlight that I'm in need of a phone for long-term, daily use and not a toy to play with (although playing with the daily phone is nice). Again, sorry for offtopic and thanks for help. |

The closest thing we have for the ports is SFDroid, which only works on a few select devices. |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Thanks for the confirmation. I guess I still might try to find a cheap Oneplus X for trying SFOS on it. And also trying to ignore my need of Whatsapp. Or, then continue with my J1 as long as it works, and then switching to 1+X with Android until there is better options available.

for slipperiness -- it's glass front and back if you get the black one -- I use a poetic case which is clear plastic with rubberized bumper strips that help with grip. also availible is a white version which I believe is ceramic on the back and less slippery and like 30g heavier. i've made no attempt to use sfdroid and android apps. (I've read about people using whatsap online but I've never figured what I'd do with it.) depending on what os the x ships with, installing sfos can be a tedious process. Check the oneplus forums about this if you haven't already. the size is about as big as I can use. it fits in pants pockets, unlike the oneplys one which i tried first. |
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Oneplus One port has jumbed forward quite a bit! :D
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...#post-15605501 https://github.com/wdehoog/sailfish-...tag/2.0.5.6-b4 Sailfish 2.0.5.6 Sensons work Camera + video recording work and much more thanks to wdehoog! Sfdroid (I have not tried it): https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...us-one.474965/ Also Jolla Store is open! I think there is currently only one limiting issue: Video playback Some earlier analysis about video playback: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/s...#post-14513598 "gstreamer1.0-droid may become relevant again for hardware accelerated playback but this requires more work on the hardware adaptation side. My understanding is that until the required parts become available in the hardware adaptation, gstreamer1.0-droid will not be provided." Any ideas how to solve video playback issue? Currently Oneplus One port is really great and with video playback solved it would be almost perfect! ;) |

Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
Today I put the SIM card first time to Oneplus X (I had to cut it to nano size as I took it from J1). It does work, calling and answering calls work. Also receiving SMS works. But I cannot send SMS. I tried rebooting, switching mobile network on/off and switching to 2G/3G/4G (which also works as intended) but couldn't send any SMS. Anyone else experiencing this?
|
Re: SailfishOS on Oneplus One
if you can receive sms but sending is not working, than is you sms central number wrong. Check this in "Settings => Apps => Message => and than the first place"
i use opx and sms sending is working. |
