Camera phone competition December 2016: "Joy"
 

On the northern hemisphere it's dark outside and many people are stressing about Christmas stuff. Where's the joy in that? Or where's the joy in everything? It could be joy in your life or someone else's. Picture could be taken of a dog who brings joy to your life or something that brings joy to that dog. Lots of things can be photographed.

Same rules (copy-pasta from before):

Photos must be taken during this month (after theme is announced?)
Photos must be taken by the posting member
Photos must be taken with a camera phone
Users post only one photo per entry
Users can change the entry only once
Users must name the phone they used (software would be nice too?)

Last three days of this month are for voting. Have fun and enjoy.

so sorry for not being able to participate in any way for November, workload was just to tense last month :/
I did not even manage to send out robthebolds reward. pitty pitty me. Done now finally and congratulatins again, also to shanttu!
My vote would have gone to you also, incredible shot.

So there is still one "clip one lense set" laying around here, which i would love to give away as prize for December.

Hopefully we will have many "joyfull" participants!

I always look at these threads and think: I should try this. So my old years resolution will be to enter a picture this month. No really good camera phones in house though.... My Jolla is dead, Jolla tablet is not a phone so will end up using the android one device that I use as my daily.

First, thanks for participating!

IIRC, tmo doesn't respect jpg rotation tags. You could try using another image host like imgur, flickr, etc. and post the link, or perhaps you could do a 'lossy' rotation with another image processing s/w.

For now, I'll just turn my monitor on its side ;)

Your entry makes up a very strange athmosphere which i really like. Some mixture of warm colors and cold topic. Very good effort.

A police station in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil. I was absolutely paralyzed when I saw those swings in front of the station.

Unfortunately and to my shame this was taken with an Alcatel 3XShitforMoney LoserV2. But I don't have time to go back there with my N9.

OK, here is mine, to make up the numbers. Yet again, it is not the best but it is the best I could muster. We went to the playground today and the kids found a stray cat. Taken with the only camera I had available, Jolla JP1. The picture quality reflects that.

Joy is a really difficult theme. It involves so many things, often involves persons important for you. And while the picture of my brother, seeing himself with an old funny hat, is pure joy, I will avoid persons.

I will go with science. I love science in all its forms as long as I am not forced to delve into all the theory work and can focus on the awesome aspects of the fields. My picture comes from today's high-voltage display at the "Deutsches Museum" in Munich. If you visit there, you should really take a look at it.

Nine entries! We went from a dearth to a surfeit. A paucity to a plethora of pics. Thanks everyone for sharing.

Is that that birdhouse we saw before in mosens photo? Only that time hosting an actual bird? And someone got a drone for Xmas -- that's pretty joyous!

And I sure enjoy the humor in catbus' "Still Life with Unix Pen" as I'll call it ;). Is there really a Unix Pen? Fantastic.

shanntu: nice job with the mist enhancing the depth of field. That little thicket almost looks like bamboo in a Chinese silk painting.

And the kids with the cat and the colorful swings -- at least there are a few happy things in an otherwise awful 2016.

Maybe if i send it tomorrow it will be even "faster" than the one that was ment as october prize and has not reached you from when i sent it mid december :P

The "caterpillar" thing is an artificial evergreen garland that has a couple stray branches that do look a little like caterpillar horns at that angle :)

The lens kit appeared on my doorstep courtesy of my postal service letter carrier yesterday afternoon. Putting the fisheye on the "selfie" cam makes me look like I'm peering out a peephole at myself! ;)
