Camera phone competition September 2017: Something Geeky
Ok. here we go for this month's theme. I liked some of the pictures of circuit boards from last month's competition so I thought why not give folks a chance to express their inner geekiness (not sure if that is a word but you know what I mean). So in a most artistic fashion please provide a photo of circuit boards, computers, raspberry pi set up, messy desk with some electronics configuration or what ever. Just let your inner geek shine!

Very good topic!
https://mosushi.de/misc/photocomp/IM..._155312527.jpg Moto Z shot of one of my Rasberry Pis at work, hidden in a fridge. It is one-wired to 4x DS18B20 sensors in other fridges, logging temperatur since 2013 without any hickups. Only some power outages destroying sd-cards and uptimes. You can access his http here. The script shows a combined log of all 4 pis and 9 fridges spread over 200qm ;) |

How come the cyclical temperature fluctuation? |

By the Thumbrule you could say, the older the model, the wider the temperature range in one cycle to generate the wanted medium temperature. Older models cycle up to +-6°C around the wanted medium. The newest model is the green line, only cycling +-1°. You can also see in the grey -24°C line what happens if you freeze the sensor in a bottle of ice to have less temperature fluctuation :D |

Sorry could not resist post this even if it looks crap.
The plan with this was to make an arduino nano compatible board using stm32 instead of crappy 8bit AVR. But I decided to extend the board a bit. * Added a switch regulator * pinout for adafruit Tempsensor * NRF24LO+ pinout. * ESP8266 pinout * Possibuility to mount a 2 FET onboard * Possibility to mount standard I2C eeprom onboard * OLED pinout adafruit compoatible * No shitty FTDI chip needed since the STM has USB onboard and make it possible to flash STM using dfu-util no external adapter needed for flashing as in the case of AVR. Okey the picture... The board looks crap since I have not cleaned it and using alot of flux when soldering but that's what geek stuff is about :D ;) Camera Sony Xperia XZs. |

My apologies for having been absent from this magnificent competition for some time. Been busy traveling etc.
Here's my photo for this months competition. Taken with my faithful Nokia N9. The subject is one of the boards/CPUs in a computer box cooled with mineral oil. The box has 4 dual Opteron motherboards eg. 8 CPUs/128 cores. Pretty geeky I think... http://www.stylezsoft.com/photos/17090011fixed.jpg |

Re: Camera phone competition September 2017: Something Geeky
OMG! It's Oct 1 already! We have 4 entries. I must admit I'm slightly disappointed by the number of contributions. Thought more folks would be interested in geeky goodness. I am, however, heartened by the the quality of the entries so hats off to you folks that contributed. Indeed, hard to choose from! I will tally votes. The winner will be determined midnight October 3rd EST.
Here are the entries (as the thread is so short, no point in reshowing the photos). May the best photo win! 1)Mosen's raspberry pi shot. 2)Mikecomputing's arduino nano compatible board. 3)Spfoo's computer box cooled with mineral oil. 4)Spanoga's Multiwii powered Crius AIO. |

Thank you gentlemen and -women of the club.
Here's another photo of the oil project. The one for the competition might have not been very clear of the context. https://sites.google.com/a/stylezsof...s/17090008.jpg I'll be posting the subject for October very soon. |
