[SOLVED]Can't reactivate developer mode
Hi all,
I kown that it is propably a common issue here, but I can't find help with the search engine. I have de-activated the developper mode, and know I can't get it back. I found several post on TJC dealing with removing openssh from openrepos. I tried, but even warehouse and pkcon don't want to remove it because it could brak the system. Some info : Code:
ssu s Code:
pkcon install jolla-developer-mode An idea for me? Vincent |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
just maybe your sfos version is so between stable and unstable ones? try to upgrade to 2.1.2 first
|
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
I think you're right, but without developer mode and root access, I don't know how to do the update.
Whith developer mode, I would do : Code:
devel-su And version --dup need to be root. |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
Are you sure that you need root to execute 'ssu release' and 'version --dup'? I am pretty sure you can execute both commands as nemo.
EDIT: Just tested it and both commands don't need root privileges. |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
I am pretty sure you can update via GUI
|
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
no problem for ssu release, it can be run as nemo.
But, with ShellEx, when I run version --dup, the output is: Code:
command version --dup starting... --> see in the patchmanager topic. EDIT2 : I try to solve the patch issue with a pkcon install lipstick-jolla-home-qt5, but it failed with the error : fatal error: user declined simulation |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
If you had opennssh installed of Openrepos, have you disabled NielDKs repo?

I disabled it. Now, openssh is still installed in 7.1P2+git2-1.10.1, and the repo disabled. I still can't uninstall it. Thanks for your help. |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
Did you try reinstalling the specific patch and try do enable/disable it?
Did you try updating or installing the developer-mode or lipstick-home package in RecoveryMode, or remove the OpenSSH package? Take a look here: https://together.jolla.com/question/...-in-boot-loop/ |

Instead, use merproject repo of mine, it does NOT cause issues ! Code:
ssu ar niel http://repo.merproject.org/obs/home:/nielnielsen/sailfish_latest_armv7hl/ |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
Well, I understand, but your repo is the only one in warehouse when I look for openssh.
I run your command line, as nemo (I can't be root) a made a pkcon refresh. Code:
ssu lr I am wrong? |

If you can’t use root, you have an issue for sure. I have sudo in my repository on merproject. Doubt you can install it without root, but it’s worth a try I guess. |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
Why don't you just download the lipstick-jolla-home-qt5 package reboot into recovery, enter shell, mount the partitions, chroot into SFOS and try to install the package? This only takes about 5 minutes...
Or did you tried to uninstall patchmanager and try to upgrade? |
Re: Can't reactivate developer mode
@nieldk : yesterday, I could install sudo from your repo.
I didn't try if it works. @mautz : recovery mode and chroot doesn't seem to be so easy for me. But, as you suggest, I removed patchmanager and try an update. It worked! And after that, I was able to activate the developper mode. Thanks you all for your help! |
