Palm OS Open Source Edition

Re: Palm OS Open Source Edition
Click bait warning, very misleading!
Palm OS != webOS Anyway, so we now have webOS Open Source Edition as well as Open webOS. Very confusing. Let's just call it Testicles (huevos is Spanish for eggs, slang for testicles and pronounced webOS)! |
Re: Palm OS Open Source Edition
Yeah, IIRC webOS was already open sourced back when HP more or less dumped it (for generally bogus reasons).
So I guess this is open sourcing the work LG did on the codebase since then ? Could be interesting to know also the licensing history - eq. if they worked from the open-sourced codebase, which I guess would have to be licensed under something like BSD for this to work. Or if they basically bought a license for the original code, in which case they would not have to care about the open-source webOS license. |

Hardly think it can be called clickbait though. Who would care? |
Re: Palm OS Open Source Edition
Apparently with Open Huevos, HP only open sourced bit and pieces (Huevos Revueltos) and the new Huevos Open Source Edition from LG is fairly complete and up to date (Huevos Fritos).

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
now that I have my composure back... I can actually write...without falling off the chair... That is good news that LG is going the distance ... A truly dedicated hmm-hmphmh....hahaaha....team... (I...can't ...resist...comment...) It's great that they are really getting their hands in there to work on HuevOS ..(:D) and make it truly free ... HuevOS for everyone! hahahahhahhaha Keep up the good fight Wicket... bringing humor to an otherwise mostly grey and antiseptic forum... |
