770 - gone back.
 

Ordered a Nokia 770 from Amazon UK, cost £99.99 inc Navigation Kit.
Great deal.

Order arrived without Navigation kit, Amazon sent a complete new package and asked me to return the other one.

Today my new (2 day old) 770 died... White screen.

So I decided to try the other one they had sent... Guess what..freeze - crash - White Screen.

So I've decided to give up.. If they are that 'iffy' that 2 have died doing nothing more than web browsing.. I don't want one.

Hopefully Amazon will refund the money quickly.

Anyone want to make me an offer for a 2GB MMC and a Martin Fields screen protector :rolleyes:

hmm, strange. i have yet to have the infamous white screen happen to me.

yes, i have had it reboot on me a number of times, but i have yet to have it go irrecoverably white screen.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I bought one from amazon for £99 too and both the 770 and the GPS work perfectly and have done since last week after heavy daily usage.

I was aware of the WSOD danger before I purchased mine and was prepared for the fact there was a chance it may need to be returned/repaired thanks to http://www.hotukdeals.com thankfully they haven't though. Best £99 I've ever spent.

well knock on wood, it died.

i was using it and all of a sudden the screen went mostly white with some blue spots in a line in the center.

could not get it to respond so i pulled the battery. bad idea. now i got those interesting stripe patterns people write about...
