How do I port Maemo to a unsupported device?
Hi all. I am just wondering is its possible to port maemo to a different device? (thinking something like my old phone). thanks in advance.

Actually in theory all devices can be supported, if:
- You can replace original boot code with your boot code or device can directly boot from sd-card or from USB or some port. - You have enough information about hardware to communicate with device to debug boot (with screen or some port or speaker/mic). In reality: - Avoid all devices that are made to not user choose or replace operating system (some devices forbid to replace OS(that should be illegal)). So when you buy your next device, ask what operating systems you can install in device and don't buy if you cannot install at least two OS :) |

Haha same thinking here, my modern phone is a 2018 power house with no less than 4GB RAM. It could run Maemo in a virtual machine and still have processing power left to phone home 24/7. :D |
