Rise of the Silver Surfer
Watched Fantastic Four tonight. Couldn't believe Reed Richards uses a Nokia N770 to save the world. He had some great apps!:D

Yeah, I looked for the tachyon pulse emitter control app on maemo garage, but couldn't find it.

Re: Rise of the Silver Surfer
I think the funniest thing is the during the scene where you first see him using the N770, the "Computer behind the 2 or 3 flat screens is just a empty computer case with not motherboard and/or fake cables coming from it....

Re: Rise of the Silver Surfer
You probably couldn't guess this, but I know a little bit about the Silver Surfer.
He has been my FAVORITE since the mid-70's when I read the Gigantic/Oversized Comic Book of the Fantistic Four . Norrin Radd as he is known on his home Planet of Zenn-La, where he left the love of his life Shalla-Bal to be the Herald of Galactus so he could save his planet from being destroyed. Also when Joe Satriani came out with "Surfung with the Alien" I bought the LP and CD and I was able to get Joe Satriani to sign the Album and my T-Shirt, which of course had the Silver Surfer on it, and he signed it on the board. When I saw Joe in Concert that night, at Mississippi Night's in St. Louis, I was right next to the Stage and after his first song he told me "Can you hold this for me" and gave one of his Red Guitar Picks which has the Silver Surfer etched on it, and of course I was wearing my Silver Surfer T-Shirt and everyone at the concert kept on saying "Wow look at that guy with T-shirt that had the Surfer dude on it just like the album" Anyway, when Me and my Wife watched FF in the Theatre and MR. Fantastic started using his Nokia 770, I could hardly contain myself. I immediately got my Nokia N800 out of my shirt pocket and said to my wife "See great minds think alike, in fact I was more up to date that Reed Richards" Of course her response was "You do know this is just a movie and is made up, don't you?" Oh Well I enjoyed it anyway. |
Re: Rise of the Silver Surfer
 ROFL, I happened to be listening to Crushing Day by Satriani, from the album Surfing with the Alien on my N800 w/UKMP when I read your post. I'm not much of a fan of FF or Silver Surfer (but I'm aware of their mythos, and I'm a fan of the super hero comic genre overall) but I liked both the movies overall.
I was happy to finally get my comics to view in evince finally. Quote:

Re: Rise of the Silver Surfer
I watched F4+RSF for the first time just a few days ago and was v excited to see the 770 in action. Like others here, I turned to my Significant Other as well as my son and pointed out the 770.
Wife was "so what" but son wanted to know if it could do all the amazing things that it could in the movie I did notice that Reed never needed to charge it up, so either he had a way of hot-swapping batteries that wasn't show, or Nokia had made him a nuclear-powered battery that's not generally on sale?? |
