trying to get 2007HE to boot from MMC

hi all,

trying hte above without sucess, ive followed the normal instructions from

http://examplified.net/guide/Nokia_7...ting_from_MMC/

but somewhere when it starts copying the files from flash to the mmc the device reboots for no reason. anyone have any ideas

if i do a df

Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock4 2048 2032 16 99% /mnt/initfs
none 512 36 476 7% /mnt/initfs/tmp
/dev/mtdblock4 126464 96620 29844 76% /
none 512 36 476 7% /tmp
none 1024 60 964 6% /dev
/dev/mmcblk0p1 479744 8 479736 0% /media/mmc1

im wondering if the initial partition is too small and perhaps HE needs larger?

how big is your ext2 partition?

That looks like a pretty big FAT partition you have. You can probably make do with 256meg for FAT.

My 1GB card is partitioned like this:

/dev/mmcblk0p1 1,8000,6 (256megs FAT)
/dev/mmcblk0p2 8001,19355,, (600+megs ext2)
/dev/mmcblk0p3 27356,,S (128 megs SWAP)
/dev/mmcblk0p4 ,,, (nothing left over from above)

and with only a few apps installed, I use 30% of the root filesystem

cheers for that - figured out it was a dodgy 2gb chip

now configured a 1gb like yours, 1 question do i need to format the swp partition or does it do this au natural.
