Maemo Mapper actual field experience and questions
I took my 770 to Florida for the first time with maemo mapper and GPS.
my system is 2007He2007.36-2 with MMCplus patch, MMC boot on a 770, tethering to a Treo650 and a BT GPS. It is a great app and save me getting into the wrong route several tmes during the trip. Maemo Mapper installed 1.4.7-2. Thanks. Several short questions/comments: 1) Whenever there is a need to type in an address, an address that has been used will show up but I cannot copy and paste to the address input. I can only see it, cannot use it. 2) The comment or statement box at right upper corner is fine when NOT running full screen. When running full screen, the comment box will show up at the top right corner, abutt the right uppermost screen and it will not come down even when switched back to non-full screen mode. Even worst, if that comment cannot be honored (for example, attempted to download map when internet connection lost), it will stayput and wont go away. This blocks the iT desktop commands on the right uppermost corner, the minimize, and close button etc. and the only way out is to reboot. We need a 'close' button on the comment box. 3) the voice is barely audible, that has been noted in previous post. The way to solve it may be to include an equalizer where one can push all the tabs to +20 db. That will work. 4) If there are several turns on a short distance say 500 fts each, the comment boxes all showed up but stacked on top of each other, unreadable. Overall, this is a master piece of app and I join a chorus of users to say, thank you gnunite. bun |

Good to hear from you, gnuite. That Maemo mapper, as echoed by some many user, is quite a master piece. Thank you. Thanks for the trick to Q1. That is important, as it is next to impossible to type Road name, Jacksonville, Fl on a bumpy road. Copy and paste makes a lot of sense. The other 2 questions probably reaching the limit of the device. Thanks for the reply. For the last one, yes, the most recent notice does stay on top. However, since this is also an advance notice, i.e., you do need to see the previous one in addition to the most recent one, they are in fact, equally important. BTW, is there an option to turn on/off? that will help. thanks, bun |
