associate .flv files with MPlayer
How can I associate .flv files to automatically open when Mplayer when I double click them in the File manager?

Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
Since the files can be played via the browser's flash plug-in, they should AT LEAST be able to be associated there.
If there's no current maemo bug for this, I'm opening one. |
Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
Theoretically you should be able to do it by editing the /usr/share/applications/hildon/mplayer.desktop file, but I've never been able to get it to work. Mplayer launches and then quits after a few seconds.

Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
I tried to open the .flv files with the browser but it says unsupported format. Do I need to modify an opera setting?

Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
I haven't been able to do it either, surf. I'm just saying I think we *should* be able to.

Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
have you tried browsing the file system from browser using url of :
file:/// Then browse to the flash files. Not sure if browser accepts command line parameters which i think would be necessary for (successfully) associating file types with it. |
Re: associate .flv files with MPlayer
I tried that but the browser says it is an unknown format.

I dont know for sure because I haven't been able to make that work with avi files, but I am probably doing something wrong.. Anyway, it seems a similar problem.. -John |
