Rhapsody "to go" on N800
I have Rhapsody Unlimeted on my 800. Will the "To Go" service work with the N800? It is listed on the Rhapsody site.
Thanks Rich |

I'm pretty sure that its the unlimited service that works with the Rhapsody player on the N800. I believe that instead of having to buy by each song, you can just keep the subscription and download songs over wifi whenever you want.

"To Go" is the service that allows you to download tracks (rent) and tranfer to a device. N800 is listed as a supported device. But, they said the IPOD was also awhile back and they were wrong.

Re: Rhapsody "to go" on N800
The N800 does not support "to go" as the media player won't play protected tracks. I guess what they mean as supported is that since the N800 is a mobile device that is supposed to be always online you should be always able to connect to rhapsody :D

OK.. that was what I figured...Works pretty good tethered with my Verizon 6700..even driving down the highway..that will have to do.
Thanks for the quick reply, i appreciate it... |
Re: Rhapsody "to go" on N800
I've had a Rhapsody account for a few years and just entered my name and password and I can see my playlist of favorite tunes. I move them to the play section and hear them all.

They (correctly, IMHO) decided that it's not worth the hassle (and the bad user experience whenever it breaks) and discontinues it. As I understand it, Rhapsody To Go uses AAC files as well, but with their own DRM on it. Hopefully we'll get that supported on Maemo devices soon. Real also need to get up to speed on metadata -- the tags on their music files are not as good as iTMS'. |
