Where does Kde fit in the big picture?

I'm a linux user. KDE for me's a desktop environment. I can choose gdm or kdm before I login. Where does KDE fit on the n800.

Is it a choice that u get 2 make as well? Internet Table 2007 or KDE ???? If you put on kde, do u still retain internet tablet 2007 os? Where is kde installed? Since we only got 128 mb's... is it installed on one of the cards? Or wot?

And finally does kde get in the way of wireless connectivity @ all? Or is that part smooth?

KDE runs on OS2007.

It is stored on one of two cards of N800. In N810 you will be able to store it internally (2GB flash).

KDE is desktop environment. It doesn't overshadow/replace system features like wireless but uses them for normal working.

Ok, so the same model is maintained essentially then? While running KDE I can still use ALL the other apps on the tablet?

Sorry for the terse reply, but: Yes and probably, but those apps would not look great due to a mixture of theming. To go back to the default window manager you just need to log out of KDE, and to launch KDE you just click a menu item in Hildon.

KDE is chosen from a menu on the hildon desktop. This will turn off hildon/matchbox and start KDE. Then KDE is running. KDE runs on top of the same OS so its just a matter of stopping the window manager and starting a new one while the device is running. Once in KDE, the only Hildon apps I created icons for were Application Manager and Control Panel. When running in KDE, if you Logout it wil turn black for 15 seconds and then start Matchbox/Hildon back up. So you can switch back and forth between them, though its by no means a fast process.

What program does KDE use to connect to wireless networks?

Currently maemo controls the internet connections, and can be controlled via maemo control-panel in KDE
