earpiece is coming apart
 

Hi there, In August or so I got my n800 and the ear buds are coming apart. The plastic soft bit has fallen off and I am looking to replace it with a better quality set for use with voip. Looking at the nokia site, they have some choices, but I wouldn't mind putting some bucks into a bluetooth headset or something that would work with the unit and still have a microphone available. Any ideas?

I got a Bluetooth headset for Christmas (Plantronics Voyager 855) and have been working with it. It does work out of the box with Skype on my N800 with OS2008, just have to pair the headset up. Audio quality is where it's a problem. It's like the data interrupts every second and audio drops out. Still searching for solutions.

You may be better off going with a wired HS for now as the BT ones are not reliable enough like Electrolind mentioned.
I've got BT stuff too, but didn't do more than piddle with it for ten minutes to know that a wired set will be the only way to go for now.
Software support will be better soon enough. We just have to be patient and wait.
You CAN use a regular stereo wired headset and the internal mic on the device if you wish. That seems to work well also.
