mClock 0.4.0
0.4.0 is out.
The problem is that mClock has stopped working for me on my 770 with 2007HE. 0.3.0 used to work for me but it does not anymore. I tried upgrading to the just released 0.4.0 and it does not work either. I uninstalled and reinstalled python 2.5. Still no luck with mClock. I tried mClock 0.2.0, 0.3.0 and 0.4.0 and they all don't work. They all load for a while and then nothing. I can see cpu activity when trying to load but the program never seems to start up. No error message and the clock page never displays. The loading message just goes away. python seems to be fine because other apps that use python like maemochron work just fine. Any way I can figure out why mClock does not work? I am not very experienced in the linux world and do not know where to start for debugging. I am very computer experienced but mainly with windows. |
Re: mClock 0.4.0
It s seem's to be that the .desktop file have a problem.

Re: mClock 0.4.0
Can you please explain? What do I need to do with the .desktop file? Where do I find that file. I know it is a hidden file because of the '.' but that is about the extent of my knowledge of it.
Thanks! |

Re: mClock 0.4.0
My only problem with mClock is I haven't found a graceful way to close it.

Re: mClock 0.4.0
Thanks for the help
The back key (the curled arrow) worked as exit for me. Here are the results of run. It appears to me to report an error loading gnome. I get the sme error on both my 770 and my n800. I have no idea how to fix the error. /usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py:9: RuntimeWarning: import cdrom: No module named cdrom import pygame /usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py:9: RuntimeWarning: import joystick: No module named joystick import pygame Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py", line 28, in <module> from gnome import gconf ImportError: No module named gnome |
Re: mClock 0.4.0
Hum it seems a library is missing. Try to install gconf (i don't remember repository witch hold it).

Re: mClock 0.4.0
Installing gconf on my 770 did not fix the problem. Same error trying to run mClock.
I corrupted my 770 trying to re-install python. It boots up but I get a mouse cursor and after a few seconds it restarts itself. So I will reflash it and start over, hopefully problem solved there. for my n800 I tried to install gconf from maemo.org but the install said it was not compatible. I uninstalled maemochron, mclock, python 2.5. (had to uninstall maemochron because it was listed as dependant on python 2.5. mclock is not listed as a dependancy for python 2.5 though.) I then installed python 2.5 (I did add the repository first). mclock and maemochron. mclock still gives the same error and maemochron runs fine. |
