Mine has been too, "app error-browser has closed" and my mem cache was only on 1024 and now bumped back to 4096, the max. I must have forgooten to change since the last firmware update, we'll see if this helps.

I get a lot of browser crashes as well on my 2006 OS. I have no idea why.

2TTgowings as well as memory cache virtual memory can be enabled or increased by the following |folder to the middle left|tools|Control panel|memory|Virtual
set it as high as possible. Also when you get to downloading programs, you can try seatbelt, available here https://garage.maemo.org/projects/seatbelt/ it changes a few other variables to make the machine more stable
