N800 hits the road: Quick summary of benefits

I just got back from a 2 week business trip.

On this trip I had my Nokia N800 and my laptop. (I only took the laptop out at the office for work and in the hotel room for some MORPGing.)

The Nokia took care of me in the Hotel Lobby during breakfast, out at lunch at many places, dinner at some places, at a bar looking up lyrics for Karaoke, and at the airport. (BTW: It was a big hit at the bar.)

It was ALSO great because I got the navkit and didn't get lost anywhere. I usually get lost and drive around. This time I drove around and got "lost" then after awhile just hit "target = hotel" and went right back. That was a really nice benefit. Helped a lot out there in the "flatlands". I don't know how people live out there with no mountains.

SUMMATION: How did I freaking LIVE without an Internet Tablet?

The ONLY bad thing I found was lack of wi-fi in some places. (Might get a BT/Data phone soon.)

The screen size of the N800 is barely large enough. Anything smaller would definitely NOT be acceptable.

I had bought a caselogic "tough" case for it. I ended up using the small slip in "sock" case it came with... it fits into my pocket better. I'd like to find a small neoprene case with a zipper that will fit the N800... the unit can slip out the "sock" too easily.

EDIT: Read the post about cases. Might have to look at the "offical" Nokia case. and the proporta case also.

The above looks like the case I bought from Hong Kong on eBay. It works very well for me. Buy it now price = $1.99. Plus shipping, of course. It doesn't have a zipper; it just fits and stretches when you need it to stretch. I've had it for 4-6 months and it shows no sign of wear.

The silicone case is actually great. I can put in the Nokia-supplied case, and it doesn't slip and slide out!
