Maemo mapper map storage

Hi folks, quick question, do the maps downloaded for maemo mapper have to be stored on the boot device? If I want to download more maps, do I have to clone my OS to my SD card?

Thanks for your help!

You can store them wherever you want, tipically database is in a directory stored on external/internal MMC/SD card, just give MM the correct path to it

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up!

I looked for a place to set the location inside MM but I must have missed it.

Thanks, Evan.

Maybe not that accurate regarding the translation (mine is in italian), but... main menu / maps / manage repositories, then the "Cache DB" field must report the path to the db..

If I want to move my map storage to my SD card, are these the steps.

1 Stop maemo mapper
2 Copy files from internal memory to chosen directory on SD card
3 Start maemo mapper
4 Tell maemo mapper when the files and database are.

Definitely, yes.

Re: Maemo mapper map storage

I'm running a 1.x version of mapper. I can't find the place to tell it where the maps are located (in order to change it to my storage card).
And while I'm asking questions, how do I put it in offline mode (so that it doesn't try to download maps while I'm in the car with no Internet connection)?
And, when I try to install mapper 2.0 on my Nokia770 I get a message saying that it can't resolve the libconic0 dependency. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Main Menu | Maps | Manage Repositories... | Cache DB

Are you installing using the .install file or the .deb file? Using the .install file should resolve any and all dependencies that Maemo Mapper needs in order to install. The .deb file, on the other hand, requires manual dependency resolution.

The Maemo Mapper .install file
