xterm: is there an up arrow?

Is there any way of generating an up arrow in xterm?

Or any other way to recall and edit previous commands.

(without using lots of !#//^ characters)

Now why didn't I think of that?

Actually, I often neglect the d-pad. I've only just discovered its usefulness in maemo-mapper.

Those control chars in the right-hand vertical panel can also be used:
ctrl-p : up (p=previous)
ctrl-n : down (n=next)

And don't forget the back/escape button (just below the d-pad) if you are using vi.

Don't jest. It took me ages to work that one out.

I seem to forget all about the various buttons when I am using the keyboard.
