This might explain why Nokia announced the wimax N800 and then suddenly went very quiet about it. I think I'm right in saying that, outside of reviewer speculation, Nokia hasn't uttered a word about Wimax during the launch of the N810.

back to the drawing board. i'm guessing a year and a half before we see wimax starting to appear. i wonder if nokia will add wimax to their next tablet even if wimax is not available in the US.

From Engadget:

"I am an engineer with Sprint and can tell you that the WiMax build out has not stopped or slowed. The joint venture deal with Clearwire is the only thing that faded out. There are to many contracts in place with various equipment vendors (Nokia and Samsung most notably) to just scrap the entire project."

No way to confirm who this person is, but who would claim to be an engineer with Sprint if they were not?

He's right... Chicago, D.C, & some Texas markets should be just about complete. Clearwire was just part of the plan as a short cut to a nationwide system and only affected markets with Clearwire's presence I beleive.

Just a little tongue-in-cheek jab for fun. :)

(And one of the best lines from The Untouchables.)
