suddenly WPA/WPA2 trouble

I have had my N800 connected to my home wireless with WPA2 without any problems.

My laptop is online all the time so no problem there.. (I even took a reset on my linksys and set it up one more time just to check)

When I set my router without encryption I am able to connect. when using encryption WPA or WPA2 I got connection problems.

Anyone else have had this problem?

Have not tried with WEP yet, but still.. there should be no problem since I have connected it before.

I have WPA2 personal with AES+TKIP.. Now I am trying WPA with TKIP
Both with shared key.

Which router are you using?

On your router, is your Channel setting set to automatic? If yes, set it to a low number maybe between 1 to 5.

Channel was now 2.. When I reset it was 6. I tried 3 without any luck.

I smell a firmware install one more time :(

It feels slower also before it display the AP in my area. Maybe something I installed lately..

Edit.. Using Linksys WRT54G Firmware Version: v4.21.1

I have had this all the time and had my N800 connected to it since I got it for about 2-3 weeks ago.

I upgraded the OS on my N800 and suddenly my home (AirPort Extreme Base Station) network with WPA/WPA2 encryption disappeared. After reading here I tried to switch the encryption off, and voilá - my home network reappeared, but then I lost contact with my Air Port Express (speakers). I switched the encryption back on, but this time to WPA2 only and now everything works fine - except that my stupid IBM ThinkPad will not connect. Back to square 1.

My wireless also has some strange behaviors that look similar. Actually if somebody has some steps to get some debug info, I'd be happy. I've opened a bug on bugzilla but with very few info.
I use OS2007 latest, WEP, hadhoc channel 3 to an IPW2200 (HP laptop running debian).
Sometimes it works. Sometimes not :)
When it doesn't work, the device simply doesn't see any network, not only mine is not working.
And I use it at two different places, same problem. One place has maybe 8 networks, the other nothing (checked with kismet)
And also yep, it appeared after a while. When I received the device (2 months or so), I had no problem.

Looks like some kind of race condition.. if I ask my crystal ball.

I hope this is a bit better with OS2008.

Re: suddenly WPA/WPA2 trouble

There was a thread a few months back where one user reported that if there were any draft-N networks active nearby then the N800 went completely network blind. A shot in the dark, but could be worth investigating.

Crap.. I got the same problem. It does not see any network even my own.. And when I find it I get connection error. After having it charged a bit suddenly I notice it is online.. But if I take my n800 with me at work/make it offline and then online again it suddenly got the same problem.
I just yesterday decided to take a firmware reinstall again but now I am not able to do firmware upgrade either since the upgrade software don`t detect my n800 anymore. I have the usb symbol when I boot with the homekey pressed and I have done this one time before without any trouble so not sure what this could be.
I have tried to make it totally "dead" by taking out the battery and leave it out for half a minute before putting it back and try the same method to connect with upgrade.
Anyone have the same problem?
