Improved suspend mode in OS2008
It looks like Nokia has actually been listening to us, and there is now an improved suspend mode. It's a shame it is not enabled by default, but it is quite easy to do yourself:
The file you need to modify is /etc/mce/mce.ini First, modify the powerkey actions to suit you, making sure one of them does a softpoweroff. This is what mine look like: Code:
PowerKeyShortAction=softpoweroff Code:
# Connectivity policy when running on battery |
Re: Improved suspend mode in OS2008
There are problems with it.
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=11847 I've submitted a bug report. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2306 |
Re: Improved suspend mode in OS2008
That's nice. When it's debugged, it will bring back some of the convenience of the 770's cover (with additional options).

Re: Improved suspend mode in OS2008
softpoweroff still has not been fixed in 1.2007.44-4
In fact it is now even worse than before: the screen and keys are totally unlocked! ie: they wake up the screen. So all softpoweroff does is blank the screen without any kind of lock... Come on Nokia, it should not be that difficult to fix. It used to be working well in 2007; I don't see how adding offline mode could break it so much. At least it's changing, so it means it is being worked on, and I hope it will be fully functional for the final release. |
