didnt someone code the ability for the supplied earphones to control things? could that code be extended to include this?

not that i would use it, i would much rather have proper bluetooth stereo and remote control profile support...

The current infrastructure supports one button either on BT or wired headsets. For wired headsets, the button is to be interfaced according to the OMTP specs; for BT headsets, all buttons will be accepted.

On this, I'd guess one of the buttons sends a button-press signal, which may be ised to play/pause, etc., and others either work the same or don't work at all.
