OS2007 on N810
Has anyone tried this? I know it sounds counterintuitive but... has anyone tried this yet... I'd luv to know what the possibilities are. I'm plannin on purchasin a n810 later this month :)
If anyone has any spare time and could try it... let me know how it goes plz |
Re: OS2007 on N810
ok, well i'm a noob, but i think that if you take a 2007 backup you can do it. because if i'm not mistaken, please correct me if i am, you can reset a n800 that way if the upgrade didnt work out well, so i think that if would work.

Re: OS2007 on N810
As I said in your other thread, this doesn't strike me as a good idea.
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...9590#post99590 But if someone really wants to try, I think the first problem will be that the Flasher will see the OS2007 firmware image is written for RX-34 (N800) hardware and the N810 hardware identifies as RX-44. Flasher won't let the install proceed.... for your own protection. Probably the only way to get it on there will be using a method similar to the way OS2008 was installed on the N800: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...4459#post94459 |

Also there is one major issue - both older kernel and OS2007 does not support builtin keyboard (and other extra HW like GPS or light sensor). Backporting kernel driver should be relatively easy but disabling/enabling on-screen keyboard when HW keyboard is opened or closed may be a bit tricky to do in OS2007. I think I'll try it when I get 810 but it may not be very usable for normal users who expect all builtin HW to work smoothly. |
Re: OS2007 on N810
Also another way is to tweak OS2007 to live with newer kernel which will solve dual booting issues with N800 too. Unfortunately some parts of wi-fi connection manager stuff is closed and currently WLAN connections do not work with newer kernel.
