Where to download pidgin?!?!
Hey guys i have a N800 running OS 2007.....and i need to know which one of these to download.
http://pidgin.im/download/ or is there another place? |
Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!
It's here: http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/communications/.
In fact, http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/ is pretty much all (or almost all) you need to know to get new applications. EDIT: Misread OS2007 as OS2008. Same site, just change the URL slightly. |
Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!
its not on maemo anymore to download.....

Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!

http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2007/pidgin/ Edit: Never mind. I see the "click to install" link is missing. |

Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!
How about the note at the top of the Maemo page for OS2007 Pidgin (http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2007/pidgin/) that says:

no guys...its missing the file...

Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!
What "file" do you think is missing? The instructions on that page for OS2007/bora have you add a couple repositories and then install using them. (Basically one for Pidgin and one for Maemo Hackers ) The pidgin bora repo given in the instructions points to packages here:
http://idefix.go-nix.ca/nix/dists-files/bora/ Which seems complete. Or are ther other problems? |
Re: Where to download pidgin?!?!
@tamadrums888 :
I take this is your first Pidgin install...then as indicated, make sure you add all the repositories as per the site instructions: http://pidgin.garage.maemo.org/ You have to use "bora" eveywhere (I think there is an incorrect reference to "mistral" for one repository) If you're trying to upgrade to 2.2.2, I found that you will have to uninstall 2.2.1 completely (incl plugins) since the structure has changed (ie Yahoo is integrated in the last version, not a plugin anymore). Hope this helps |
