Quick question about Claws and Pidgin

If I install claws on my N800, does it replace the current email app? In other words, will the little "people" icon flash red and green, check email when the app is closed, etc. with claws?

I have the same question about Pidgin, will it notify me of messages with the red and green flashing notification and list messages when I click on it?

Nope. It's a separate app that is launched via another icon, etc.

No, but you can set it up so that it has notification sounds. There's also a plugin to enable Pidgin to use your tablet's LED light.
