Can Normal SD cards be used in Nokia N810 , if not what cards are used in them??

MicroSD (with a MiniSD extender) and and MiniSD. Read the specs on the Nokia site:

The N810 takes Mini SD cards or adapter with the microsd/microsdhc in them. Capacity wise, I havent seen any members who can put any 6gb card or higher in the N810. Strange that Nokia advertise up to 8gb. I have a Sandisk 6gb microsdhc w/ mini adapter and havent got it to work with the N810. I believe one guy here complain that the N810 is limited to the 2gb card unlike the N800 which works with most card manufacture with cards up to 8gb. Its a drag paying top dollars on a device that doesnt read cards higher than 2gb.

Not to hijack this thread, but if we were to use the sdhc kernal in the same manner as the 700/800, would the N810 be able to read the higher capacity cards?

I can't imagine the N810 firmware doesn't support SHDC and higher capacity cards. I know when I flashed my N800 with the N810 firmware my 8GB cards worked fine.

If you pop that 6GB micro/mini combo into a card reader do you see a 6gb partition?

OS2008 does support SDHC (for up to 8GB). If it's not working, you may need to file a bug report or reflash your IT.

definitely something wrong with either your card or tablet , i have a 4 gig micro sdhc , and i have an 8 gig micro on the way

Darn. So simply formatting fat32 will not cut it? How do you go about partitioning the card? The card reads fine in the reader. However the N810 does not read it. I did a disk check and found no bad vector. I just updated to the latest firmware from nokia via nokia update software. Please fill me on on that partioning thing. Now that I know it works Im anxious to get it to work. Thanks.

I went out and bought a sandisk 2gb set microsdhc/mini adapter/sd adapter for the camera. I thought what the hell and tried my 6gb sdhc in the new mini adapter and it read fine. Now I feel like a dumb***** lol.
