GPS end Exif interpolation

I'm looking for an app that can take a GPS log (preferabley in NMEA but GPX or anything that GPSBabel can use would do) and a bunch of jpegs taken on my camera and interpolate the location of those photos based on their exif time stamps and write the info back into the exif tags.

On my mac I'd use GPSPhotoLinker, I hear RoboGeo does the same for a PC. Does anyone here know how to do it in the field with N810s?

There is a gps-camera app on garage that uses the built-in camera and GPS (or BT GPS for n770/800) to stamp photos taken by the tablet. Don't know of anything off-hand that can do it on the tablet for pictures already taken, but I remember hearing of several Linux packages that could do it. Google is your friend for that. Maybe one of them could be compiled.

Take a look at gps-saver in https://garage.maemo.org/projects/gps-saver/

I am not sure if it actually works. There is some documentation on the post processing somewhere at maemo.org, might be in the wiki.

gps-saver might suffer from this bug

Thanks but I have a GPS logger already. It's from http://ohararp.com and rocks. I clocked it at nearly 90 hours continuous use (recording every second) before I set off on my last trek and since I solar powered it the whole way it never turned off (except when I slept). That's 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for 156 days.

I need the same specs for my next trip and the N810, though I plan to solar charge it there won't be enough power to run it continuously. I'll only be using it to process the data I collect from the dedicated device. Same goes for the camera. 2MP is nice, but canon 7+MP is nicer :-)

Yes, gps-saver can be used to collect GPS fixes and then gtag https://garage.maemo.org/projects/gtag can be used to attach GPS data to photos. I am working with a new gtag version but it is a slow progress.

Bug is fixed in OS2008.

Gtag sounds like the business. What formats can it take in? I can use GPSBabel to turn my NMEA into anything I guess.

Hmmm, according to this http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowT...meworkInOS2007 gtag is for running on a PC afterwards. My solution needs to be just N810 based, otherwise I'd have to carry a laptop too.

hey intrepidanitpodean2: have you found a working solution yet for your problem? I am taking a trip soon and thought this would be pretty good to have. Although, I am bringing my laptop too so I guess the gps-saver sounds like a good deal.

It seems like the gps-saver doesn't embed the data into the camera pictures though, how would I go about doing that?
