Does N800 support SDIO gps cards ?

I would like to insert SDIO gps card into SD memory slot to have
gps unit integrated with N800.
What sdio /gps libraries should be ported to N800 ?

I don't think it does, but someone else might know better... It is compatible with most bluetooth GPS receivers, though!

That would not work for various reason, including the one that they would not fit in the slot (the slot would not close) and if they would the antenna would not receive any signal inside the nokia.

You would have some obsticals. First and most minorly the external SD card slot is on the bottom behind the kickstand. Not the most practial location for a card that extends.
Second, the SD slot is disabled when the door is open. You'd have to break the door off (>maybe?) to disable that.

I don't know about the SDIO, there is no mention in the product manual.

The controller integral to the OMAP chip is documented to include SDIO capabilities. Whether the slot is hooked up the right way, and whether SDIO is supported by the existing or some other driver is yet unknown.

A member responded to a thread I posted many months back stating that the door switch on the slot can be bypassed via a software edit. Since all I had was a SDIO camera it wasn't worth pursuing and I have no additional information about this edit.

What is a resolution and fps of your SDIO camera ?
The door switch is not a problem, as a developer I can donate used N800.
What counts is sdio libraries.

Already done.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sdio-linux/

The SDIO-Linux project provides an open source SDIO-stack. The stack comes complete with drivers for the Host and Bus controllers, SD/MMC memory cards, SDIO-bluetooth and Atheros’ WLAN driver.

I will ask developers from Nokia to open fast track to SDIO implementation into N800/ N810.

Okay what about the new card from EyeFi then (http://www.eye.fi/)?

The other idea (if you don't want an external GPS) is to utilise the location positioning within your mobile phone. extGPS (from Symarctic http://www.symarctic.com/beta/static...xtgps_download) allows you to share out a phone based GPS receiver over BT.

Thanks.
Just ordered , hoping to test it soon.
Frankly speaking I would like to download application demo first to see how it works.
Idea is great but moving SD card from camera to PC card reader is not very complicated acitivity.
Eye-Fi card can only broadcast jpeg images from SD memory card to wifi-enabled PC/laptop wireless.
As they charge $100 for 2GB Wifi card it makes me hard to understand
what is their idea of making business as at that price one can buy 8GB SD card.
And Wifi SD card is not wifi SDIO card so it can't replace it and be utilized as wifi interface in older models of PDAs, smartphones and the like.
