amazon.com question

I'm looking to buy a cheap SDHC card of Amazon and I see alot of cards are sold and shipped through Amazon.com by other stores. Do I need to worry about the reputability of these stores? Do they see my addy or credit card #, or is it all handled through Amazon?
Thanks,
bvsciguy

I have not had any problems with the marketplace vendors I've payed via Amazon.com. My most recent purchase was for a new speaker system that Electronica Direct had cheaper than amazon's price. I ordered it thursday and I was using them the next day (with standard ground shipping).

They do see your address and CC# because they are the one taking your money for the product, but if there is an issue with what you ordered (damaged, arrived late or not at all or with missing parts) amazon is your arbitrator and from what I have seen in the past, amazon cares more about their reputation with their customers than their vendors, so you should be ok.

Not to take food out of amazon's mouth, but if you are looking for cheap cards...."Hey have you met Newegg?".

At the moment, you might as well just use newegg. They're got a great deal on both a 16GB SDHC card and an 8GB SDHC card. Plus, newegg has a great replacement program and speedy, reliable shipping.

Cool, I'll definitely check out those cards, and probably buy one. Thanks. Sorry to be paranoid, but I heard that newegg lost their Trust-E certification (or something) a while back? Is that anything to worry about?

I've spent thousands of dollars with newegg over the years and have never once had a bad experience with them (it's frequently startling how quickly stuff arrives). Honestly, there's not another online retailer that I would recommend more highly. :)

Re: amazon.com question

Just to clarify one point. These merchants ( I'm one of them.) fulfill the order, then when it ships, notifys Amazon who then charges the credit card. The merchant never sees your credit card info. Heck, if the purchase is a gift, some of the time the merchant never sees who actually purchased the item!

Amazon is also pretty tough on the merchant if they don't ship the product in the time they state. They bug the heck out them.

I keep telling them it's Christmas and too busy but they don't understand.
