softpoweroff workaround
"Softpoweroff" (i.e. suspend) is still broken in os2008 (bug 2400). If I execute this this script as root on my n800 I seem to get 'suspend' with a screen lock however:
/usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-suspend-linux If i press the (|) button again the device returns from 'suspend' but with the shutdown-options menu on the screen. My questions: - Is this a real suspend or does the screen just turn off and lock? - Would it be possible to map the powerdown key to this script somehow? |

I've finals this week, when I get through that I'm flashing OS2008, so I'll be able to fiddle with stuff like this. Of course, they may have this bug fixed in the release version, which may be out by then. |
Re: workaround for broken softpoweroff?
This is cool. Seems to be a real suspend. If you don't power back on within a few seconds, it drops network as well.
I'm having the following two problems (already added, btw, this line to /etc/sudoers): 1) powerlaunch has unmet dependencies that appear to make it not yet working on 2008 2) It requires an additional "enter" after running this command, have you found that to be true? (in other words, if I just type the command, it waits... I need to hit enter before it does something) |
Re: workaround for broken softpoweroff?
Sorry... only appears to work via ssh. Locally it just starts right back up... I WANT MY SOFTPOWEROFF BACK!
