On-Screen Keyboard Issues

I seem to be having a problem with the on-screen keyboard.

1. I can not bring up the 'finger' press keyboard, either by using my fingers on an input field, nor pressing the center button on the pad when the stylus keyboard is displayed.

2. I believe the stylus keyboard looks different than it used to.

As a help, last week I installed some programs/drivers? that would allow one to go into the chinese character entry mode (my friend from China wanted to try it). I haven't really used the tablet much since then, and guess I didn't notice the difference.

And yes I tried uninstalling the chinese character input, but it doesn't help.

Thanks in advance.

i've found the thumb keyboard opens only occasionally with finger touches too.

the only other way i know of opening it is to hit the 'center' button after the stylus keyboard has come up

edit : oops, sorry. i see that's not working for you either. sounds like a case for an expert

Have you look to make sure that you have "Launch finger keyboard with finger tap" checked? It's in the Text input settings menu -> On-screen tab.

PCQ: Thanks, I didn't even think of looking there... but I downloaded OS2008 and original settings are back! But thanks.
