Media Streamer 1.2-22 for OS 2008
Last night I noticed that Media Streamer is now available for the N8x0's with OS2008 from the standard OS 2008 Repositories. (Media Streamer version 1.2-22)
Not had chance to test it, but wanted users interested in local network UPnP media playback on their devices to be aware of availability. I found it by simply updating my packages in the application manager and checking what programs were available to install. :) The UI Graphically looks and behaves the same as previous versions all be it modified to look nice with default OS2008 theme, testing will find out what's new/fixed over and above general availability for "Chinook" OS 2008 |
Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
A quick couple of screen grabs, to confirm I am running Media streamer on my N800. (Using OS 2008 Beta, whilst the rush is on to download official release today, pleased I installed this yesterday before today's rush on repositories ;)

Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
Streaming Video and Pictures seems OK too, where I am using TVersity as my UPnP server for initial testing. I feel that the Media Streamer application is running stable, on my N800.

Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
hi,
how can I connect media streamer to my PC? n800 can not find it in connection list. Do I have to set up something on PC first? Thanks! |
Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
I have just started using this software and love it. I use TVersity media server software on my Vista box. So far, so good. :D

Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
Using it as well to watch Heroes episodes. Works a treat :)
It does a great job of downsizing the videos as well. I find that I can't view the originals on the N810 (recognises it, but toooo slow). But the Media Streamer does a great job. A couple of questions though if anyone has any ideas... Is there any way to get the seek to work (jump forward/rewind). I just get Seek failed whenever I try ? Anyone tried Webot as well. What's the differentce, how do they compare ? Thanks, Zuber |
Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
Is anybody able to use the seek function in Media Streamer? I get "seek failed" whenever I try, on both video and audio. I've tried every Upnp server that is out there, and can't get seek to work. I know the servers support it, because when I stream to Windows media player, I can seek.
Is this broken in media streamer, or is it something else? |
Re: Media Streamer 1.2-22 Available
Bummmmmmmmp. Same issue here with the "Seek failed" error message.
