mnotify stopped working?
Not sure exactly what happened, but I woke up one morning and was surprised to not see a white mnotify icon. On further investigation, I found that it never does a periodic poll for mail. I only get a mail notification when the app starts, or if I force a check.
I'm using an N800 with the most recent OS2007 I could get from Nokia as of last night. I tried installing OS2008 to see if it would change anything, and then I reinstalled OS2007...but neither installation solved my problems. I guess there must be something in my backed up settings that's causing issues. Any ideas of how I can fix this? Thanks... -Corwyn |
Re: mnotify stopped working?
I've seen the same thing happen on two N800s running OS2008.
On the first one I had installed a lot of stuff, so I wasn't too surprised that something failed, only that reinstalling the OS didn't fix it. The 2nd one is used by my mother and nothing has been installed on that one in a long, long time, and it still suddenly failed a few days ago. Did you ever find out how to fix it? |
Re: mnotify stopped working?
If I recall correctly, I reinstalled the OS and didn't restore my backed up settings; it didn't take too long to reconfigure everything manually. It's been fine ever since.
Good luck! |
Re: mnotify stopped working?
Thanks for the quick reply!
I was afraid you'd say that. My mother is 5000 miles away and 75 years old, so it'll have to wait until my next trip home (I'm not even sure I want to tackle that then, because I spent a lot of time setting everything up for her just so.) For now I told her how to turn on the blue blinking notification from the built-in email program. If anybody knows of any other mail notification add-on, especially one that makes some noise, please let me know! Thanks again! |
Re: mnotify stopped working?
I have the same problem since Diablo. Deleted and reinstalled mnotify, without any success.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with that problem. I have really no idea what can cause it, as the manual notify still works fine. |
