I'm not totally ignorant..but how do you update to OS2008? I use the software updater but it asks for a file on my computer. Any help?

If you had bothered to do put in a little bit of effort with google, the search on these forums or the wiki here, you would've found the answer you're looking for several times over.

Guess we arrived at the information on our own.

But, because I'm feeling generous and I'm tired of people *****ing about how unhelpful the helpful people around here are, I'm going to throw you a bone and give you the information you should've searched for:

The instructions.
The firmware image.*
A mirror of the firmware image.
A link to the thread for more mirrors of the above goes down.

*As of today, December 19th, 2007, the tablets-dev site is down. I provided this link for future reference, as it's not accessible for the time being. Anyone stumbling across this thread while searching (thank you so much for doing so!) should get the firmware image from the tablets-dev site in the second link.

I would like to thank you for the information you put up on this site. I'm 57 years old with no tech skills. By reading this forum I see a lot of people have the same problems I do. I do think I'll wait a few days before I try to upgrade again and hope things get better. Thanks

this update is great. everything including browsing is much faster. i feel as if i bought a new tablet. the forward button on microb is nice, and it hasn't crashed yet.

yeah the upgrades are very nice... wish I could lock those applets on the home screen so I dont move them by accident.

Wait... We can't lock the home screen anymore in 2008?

I noticed that too. Ithink it's a good thing. It's not like there are dozens of apps there...

It's the worst possible thing! Every time you put your finger or stylus on the home screen, you have to check whether you're not accidentally frakking up your layout. That's worse than Win--frakking--dows!!

What Nokia-***** thought this would be a good idea??!!

(And yes: I do have dozens of apps there. I use Simple-Launcher)
