I found unrar on extras-devel, but it is only available from command line I think. It also needs to be used from command line. Other than that, worked nicely.

The frontend to unrar & unzip seem to work on maemo 5 too:

Anyway I'll wait for all these utilities to be available in extras

I tested Xarchiver thoroughly before placing it in my Downloads and my repository. It works just fine and does not cause any problems.

Those who need a nice GUI for the post popular archive formats may SAFELY install and use it on the N900.
