RSS Desktop Applet problem - only some feeds refresh
 
I'm having an odd issue with the Desktop RSS Applet whereby it only shows some of my RSS feeds when I refresh it.

Specifically I have a number of feeds for the Guardian newspaper and only those feeds now show on the desktop. Previously other feeds would show up on the desktop following a refresh depending on which feeds had been most recently updated.
Now only fresh Guardian feeds displace the other Guardian feeds from the desktop applet and no feeds from other sources reach the desktop.

The main RSS reader itself is fine and updates normally so the desktop applet issue isn't a major problem but is just annoying.

Has anyone else had similar behaviour from the desktop applet or knows how to solve it?
I'm running OSHE2007 (latest version) if that makes a difference.

You've only told us the feeds which do work (ie. The Guardian) - can you give us details (urls) of the feeds which DON'T work, so that maybe someone running OS2007HE can attempt to reproduce the problem?

Well I've attached the opml file if someone does actually want to try to reproduce the problem.

Tbh I wouldn't really expect anyone to go to that trouble.

I'd be more interested to know if anyone had come across a similar problem previously and what, if anything, they tried to solve it.

The RSS feed reader in OS 2007 tends to crash whenever it encounters a feed it can't handle which is a reflection of the poor code quality being shipped by Nokia (obviously it should just ignore the dodgey feed or log a warning to the user).

Chances are you have a feed in your list which is causing the feed reader applet to crash when it auto-updates - it processes The Guardian OK, but then bombs out on one of your remaining feeds.

See if you can go into the main RSS feed application and refresh each feed in turn to see if any of them cause the application to crash.

Fionn - I've loaded your feeds and see the same as you do, and I think this problem may be a feed data issue as the publication dates for several articles in the Guardian Unlimited feed appear to be future-dated, ie.

I'd never have thought of a stray RSS feed from the future :D.
