GNU Screen: No more ptys?
Hello,
When I compile GNU screen-4.0.2 for my N810, it creates the armel binary just fine, but I have only one pty, when I try to create a new screen (ctrl-a c) it displays "No more ptys", I'm guessing the # of ptys is hardcoded somewhere, or there's an OS2008 trick I'm not aware of, have any of you successfully used screen on your OS2008 device? Please note that attaching and detaching a screen session works just fine, I just can't have more than one pty which is really not great. |
Re: GNU Screen: No more ptys?
Okay I found why, there's a kernel tunable on OS2008 as such:
kernel.pty.max = 4 So I bump'd it to 256 and we're in business again! Thread closed, problem solved. |

The latest OS2008 bumps it to 16. |
Re: GNU Screen: No more ptys?
Yes, that's right RX-44_2008SE_2.2007.50-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin sets it by default to 16, which is probably enough for a low-end workstation/pda. I'm glad I have screen on this thing working, that's for sure.
Also, glad to see that the latest rev is on 2.6.21. Jerome |
Re: GNU Screen: No more ptys?
